Clothes are oddball.
I can relate to this last+surf philosophy.
I had never watched any of the metal neck videos until last night after seeing this. I liked those alright. Better than many offerings these days, and I think the surfing was refreshing, not too pro-level, just regular flawed yet aggressive surfing if you ask me.
I can relate to Metal Jimmy too, but he's gonna be old and washed up soon if he doesn't fight those demons.
Do your homework kids.

$250 trench coat on the Former website lol

You guys know how this scam works right?

Before Former there were other companies doing the same scam.

My friend started GX1000 ( https://gx1000store.com/) which is the kinda thing where Former got their idea.

It's the "underground" San Francisco skate clothing and wood brand.

Check out the coat they're selling for $190:

Here's how it works:

You buy a very limited quantity of standard product and jack the price the fvck up. This creates an image of scarcity - the products on your website thus always sell out quickly and makes it look super popular.

The GX1000 website nearly always says SOLD OUT on every item. Thus people continue returning to your site hoping for new stuff to come out - then they buy it as quick as possible.

It's great because they can make as much money as brands who have a large inventory of cheap tshirts they never sell out of. They can also operate out of a small location (usually some sort of shared space or apartment) and they NEVER have leftover inventory to deal with.

It's funny because despite the San Francisco image GX1000 operates out of Dayton, OH. :ROFLMAO:

You're ruining it for me. I wanted to pay $250 for a trench coat.

Edit: I just bought the cat shirt. Impulse buy:

They actually have a lot of cool stuff sometimes.

Their last overpriced jacket was hot...it's now on eBay for $1,100

Note the graphic was just a reprint of a famous (at least in the house music scene) cartoon published in a London tabloid:

Just watched it on the former website. It was short, but good footage and music. Doing a little reading, Doheny family history is pretty wild. He said he went off the deep end recently but caught himself. Guy still rips.

He does the same lay back EVERY FCKIN WAVE

I owe a debt of gratitude to the SB Doheny's for nearly thirty years of some of the best surf of my life.

STAB Premium, Andrew Doheny describes his drug-induced trips to the looney bin:

I think it's interesting how they save stories about people struggling with addiction for "premium only" subscribers.

Talk about profiting from someone else's misfortune.o_O

I'm guessing he's the guy Bonzer5Fin was talking about.

One day, you just never come back out, right?

I'm still seeing Andy Irons content. Remember how long they milked that?
I'm guessing he's the guy Bonzer5Fin was talking about.
Link? The guy reminds me of the Rev in Avenged Sevenfold.
