Aloha Neal Do you take requests? I've always wondered what your cameras and cases look like????
would you consider taking a 'self portrait' in a mirror?
Some time ago you posted several pictures and one was a surreal underwater taken shot of the spinning tube....
we loved it so much, someone started a thread to acknowledge a thanks for showing us how sexual the tube looks underwater..... I've searched for that those threads,no luck. I enjoyed out your website till I forgot what I was looking for....If you have some idea of the picture I'm talking about, do you sell them?
LOL or could you just post it again?
<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wave2.gif" alt="" />
Thanks Dale. I use Essex waterhousings, not the Slant-X but the older model. Haven't ever taken a mirror shot but you can kind of see me and my camera in this amusing Stabmag article.

As for that image, I think you are thinking about my "Blue Cylinder" image from 2011.

If not, let me know.

...Score an Alana Blanchard shot like that and it would net you a 5 figure buy out <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bowdown1.gif" alt="" />
Don't have one of Alana like that (though I may or may not have shots like that of other female surfers). Here's Alana all duked up for the 2011 Surfer Poll Awards.

So the guy that was behind you got worked, what about you?

Personally I think you're crazy but I really like your work.

Casey, Sandys, 5/26/13. While shooting this sequence Casey went from front lit under the open sky to darkened in a green tube. The camera didn't adjust for lighting in time for this shot, but thankfully could essentially "fix the exposure" in post-production. Fun to line up for these tube shots especially because they are so fleeting.

If memory serves it was a smalish day with poor conditions and I just tried fooling around underwater. Can see my hair in the bottom left corner.

I'm not crazy. I was the most thrill-averse guy when I was young. Nowadays, I try to be calculating about the conditions I put myself in.

Ooh, ooh, do you know misty? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

That is an amazing shot Neal. I really like the low light, but it's still really clear and the details come through well.

It does make me instinctively want to reach down and grab my leash so I can figure out which way is up <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />

Unknown, Pipeline, 1/25/13. Taken back in January, this was a small but silky day in the Country. Think I posted the closeout shot one frame later. This image still gives the impression that the wave could be makeable. I just love this wave!

Just PM me. I usually shoot on the weekends.
not speaking for him, but I think YCBS wants it to be a bit more spontaneous ... it seems it'd be his style

Mike Ito, Bowls, 5/17/13. The swell angle seemed to favor more southern shorelines, but there were still some fun ones at Bowls. This guy scored a clean one before it got insanely crowded.

Gassed, Sandy Beach, 5/26/13. Gas Chambers at the Ewa side of Sandys can get some serious barrels. Bonus is the vision of the cliffside and blowhole if you go left.
