The Honolulu /Ala Moana building skyline has certainly changed in 65 / 70 years ~
And yet, Ala Moana Bowls continues to produce fun, consistent waves to ride since my childhood days when there were glass bottom boat rides from Kalakaua Ave, at the bridge and out the Ala Wai channel to drift along the reef from Henry J. Kaiser's dredging out a channel through the reef back to the boat channel and entrance to the Ala Wai boat harbor. Magic Island, would soon become a reality as well and a particular right hand wave called "Garbage Hole" would be filled in forever with coral dredgings and large lava rock boulders.
