Were you all aware that the artist who created Mt. Rushmore was a member of the KKK and previously worked on the Stone Mountain monument to the Confederacy? I never knew that.

Is it a coincidence that Trump is holding a rally there after claiming Black Lives Matter is a symbol of hate.

You can learn a lot about the politics of Wikipedia by digging through the edit history of the wikipedia post you cited.

Now Mt Rushmore is racist

do you see what is happening?

everything American is racist now and must be destroyed

How do you think that will work out?
It's like red ants overrunning the black ants.

Except the black ants are the white people.

Which doesn't really help my metaphor. :poop:

Race hysteria is not good for a society.

When income inequality reaches a certain point, you get unrest.

That is what is happening.

The artist who painted this was rasis and even painted white Jesus. This painting is a rasis symbol to BLM and must be destroyed. If you like this painting you too are rasis.

She originally had her hands giving the WP "OK" sign...Leo had to redeux..

Well, then let's blast it because, to use Teddy Roosevelt's words about the Grand Canyon-

"Leave it as it is. You cannot improve on it. The ages have been at work on it, and man can only mar it."

I was never a fan of that monument. It would be like carving Trump's head on El Capitan.

I’m not comfortable with the worship status someone gets when there‘s a statue of them. They’re not gods. They’re ordinary people.

Remember when the Taliban blew up some old Buddhst monuments because they were offended by their existence. The world went nuts at their narrow-mindedness and bigotry.
a 2,000 year old 175 foot tall statue hand carved in to the side of a sandstone cliff.....

I would not, in good conscience, compare the cultural or historical significance of the two

on the other hand, some things just need to go

Mt Rushmore is probably the dumbest tourist attraction in the US. I was on a cross country trip and the hosts drove by it. The photos make it look huge, which it is . . . . . maybe if you are looking at it from a helicopter. From the ground it's so far up that it doesn't look like much. Why people drive out of their way to see it is :ROFLMAO:

I've always thought maybe we could appeal to Trump's ego (you cannot deny he has a huge one) and cajole him into designating the biggest, most awesome, wilderness area in the world. I even wrote a letter to their campaign and unfortunately go on their mailing list.
