Bad news for the panic pornographers. Turns out the new parent has symptoms similar to a mild cold.

Fox seems to cherry pick statements for their headlines. Here what (else) the MD said-

Coetzee started briefing other African medical associations on Saturday, discussing the variety of symptoms, such as "one very interesting case" of a six-year-old child with a fever and "very high pulse rate."

"What we have to worry about now is that when older, unvaccinated people are infected with the new variant, and if they are not vaccinated, we are going to see many people with a severe [form of the] disease," Coetzee said
.

Yeah I feel you mang :foreheadslap: I do a fair amount of trade shows for work in the winter months. Some are great with good customer interaction, chance to dine and party on the company dime with friends from school and work, etc. Others are a grind and a waste of time.

2020 and some of 2021 had the benefit of those events being cancelled, which was a bummer for some and a godsend for others. Now they are back, but with the expectation that you will wear a mask nonstop with the event/venue staff browbeating everyone who doesn't comply. It's the worst of both worlds.

One I'm doing next week requires a vaccine passport to get through the door, and nonstop masks throughout for a 72 hour stretch. Yay! :violin: :foreheadslap:
The way out is to stop cooperating. Yep, non-compliance is going to suck for everyone. I see no other option.

Did they require masks for all inside?

And yes, these measures drastically lower the value of these conventions.
Yep. Even though I'm vaccinated, I don't feel like hanging out with terrified geezers and effeminate yes men in masks who can't move on with life. The common-sense thing to do is tell everyone to stay home if symptomatic and enter at your own risk. Also, it's hard enough to hear on a convention floor without masks, let along being unable to see a huge chunk of the customer's non-verbal communication or even hear through both masks. I'm skipping a convention next week. Long term, we just need to get these losers out of our lives.

Such a rebel.

So brave.

Exactly what Jesus would do.

The party of law and order.

Such a manly man.

I am of the opposite viewpoint. I don't want to be anywhere near people who by choice are unvaccinated, either because they are extremely partisan and are making a political statement ("they can't make me because freedom") or they are extremely selfish and uncaring towards others ("why should I sacrifice and wear a mask just so everybody else can be safe?" ) or because they are stupid ("masks and vaccines are useless, it's just the flu"). Partisan, selfish, and stupid are not my kind of folks.

Then stay home.

Or if you think that masks and vaccines are that effective, then you should be fine?

It’s the expectation for all of the public to double with both vaccines and masks for eternity that I have a problem with. If you are vaccinated and asymptomatic then you should not be expected to wear a mask anywhere.

So why are you shitting your diaper then?

Was getting vaccinated so horrible and difficult?

Why would you consider it anything other than a minor inconvenience?
