Probably dropping in on you, California
KFCs looked fun when I was there but Macaronis was perfect so we didnt surf it hahaha.
Resort has boats but if you wants rights I would stay somewhere else.

The resort is a boat ride away from maccas, def not paddleable. Someone who has stayed there probably has better info than me regarding the camps boats.
thanks man, yea wouldnt mind a few sessions going right but not a deal breaker. heard KFC can get pretty perfect too.

Part of why im hyped is it seems Macaronis is a great wave to dial in your backhand both for tubes and turns. my backside tuberiding skills need a ton of work.

Also - do you need to boat to macaronis from the camp each time you want to surf or is it paddle-able?
Yes, you need a boat to get out there. They are available on demand all day long, so it's no biggie.

The resort puts a bigger "tender" boat out at the break all day long which you paddle back to at the end of a session for them to radio a little shuttle boat to come pick you up.

Tip for getting uncrowded Maccas daily - everybody likes to surf leading up to sunset. I'd go out around 3-3:30 every afternoon, surf with like 5 guys out for 1.5 hrs or so until the evening crowd showed up and then paddle back to the tender to sip Bintangs and watch the show before heading back to land.

I've never stayed at the camp there but I have been and that was the one break where I just logged one long session (10:00 - 3:00 or so) / day. It always seemed most crowded from dawn to about 9:30 or 10 then light variable crowd thru lunch up until, like birdLA noted, the evening. It was cool to be surfing pumping Macaroni's for these 15-20 min windows with one or two other guys in the water. What a fun wave!

When I was there even the pros were patiently waiting their turn.

Here's what they were filming:

Indonesia has always been one of my favorite destinations, but from an avid traveler's point of view, you'll get a better experience at an Australian resort. Even though Indonesia is a much cheaper place to travel around than Australia, I find the experience you can have in those countries is much more different. I guess I can say that Australia is more geared up for tourists, which I definitely admire. I love going to countries with good infrastructures, especially when it comes to tourism. The hotels are also better. I'm currently staying at a hotel near me open now, and I only have good things to say.
