What are our collective thoughts on the FM erBB?

I think the longer ones look insane.

More interesting than the short ones for me partly because I like the cleanliness of not having the twinzer setup.

Who here has an educated take on these shapes?

I'm not educated on these but am very curious.
I rode my buddy's 6'8" hand shaped FM (he bought it used so no ideas on the dims, not listed on the board) a month ago and really liked it. I'm not sure I'd love it at a beach break but it felt really good at an overhead slopey reef.

Copied from my ad in the classifieds for a hand shaped FM:
“They go good! The poly/PU handshaped ones have less rocker and a more pinched 50/50 rail than the Varial Love Machine version. Both have similar bottom contours along with the channel in the tail. The handshape is a better pocket trimmer while the Varial can be surfed more HP and out on the shoulder for turns back into the foam. I preferred keels(AMKs) WITHOUT the Canards in the handshape while the RL twinzer set from NVS was fine in the Love Machine.”

I’ll add the Varial Love Machine FMs so far have a slightly different outline. The nose on them are a little wider and softer.
As far as the new longer ones go, I will give them a shot, but they aren’t a priority for me at the moment

Here are a few pics of my Lovelaces(3 FMs) for FM comparisons

I YOLO'd a Varial version. Too long for me. I cant get used to it. Though, the one wave I actually got back on the tail, it rocketed out of the bottom turn. Who wants to YOLO a very slightly used FM?

was just talking to oeste about this. If I jived with mid lengths this would be my first choice. Just looks so good and I'm surprised we haven't seen more here
Maybe just cause RL rubs people the wrong way. Also the twinzer setup probably rules out a lot of duus who think it would be too exotic.
Personally, I’m tryin hard not to become a midlength crutch guy

That’s the set he had paired with the FM at the Boardroom Show. He said they would be sh!t with other boards so he only sells them with the FM.They’re big and dual foiled. Designed to be set in further from the rails, around 2.5”. I’m familiar with that length.

Those fins look good. Bummer that so many fins are being made with material that has the firmness of steel and is foiled razor thin.

Ryan Lovelace is an a$$hole but an amusing one who makes great boars. Really enjoyed his back and forth with OT back in the day. OT said st along the lines of “i spit on the dot” referring to that resin dot ryan used to put on all his boars lolz

Thought the erBB would be more on top of this one. Sure seems like they sell pretty quickly.

Just YOLOd an 8'1 as a small wave destroyer for crowd season.

Keoni who I mentioned in my surf journal post. Sponge has posted pics of him too. Anyway Keoni surfs longboars well. Someone gave him an 8’2 Lovelace FM to try and yesterday was the second day I saw him on it. He surfed ok on it but rides a 9’0 Makani longboar way way better.

Would not bang.
