Holy sh!t there were some good waves in this. I always respected Torren Martyn's surfing, but never really paid much attention to him. This film gave me a whole new respect for how talented he is......when he takes off on that right and barely tucks under the lip to get in that barrel......subtle yet incredibly skillful. Highly recommend this one :jamon:

It's very surprising that casa found something to be offended about.
Straight white cis-gender males from Oregon who have large surfboard quivers won't get it.

Torres Strait Islanders LOVE videos about guys on twin fins surfing cold North Atlantic waves.

Do better.

The surfing and filming was epic as always. Those waves mostly did not look user friendly at all. Can't wait for the next episode.

I generally don't like anything in surf movies that isn't surfing, but I enjoyed this thoroughly. Although I question why they didn't get the van checked out before they spent all the time outfitting it.

Waves are solid. So much more interesting to watch than <insert current world tour surfer> on perfect waves. Look forward to the next installment.

I thought the narration was cheesy but IMO, Casa, it's even weirder to erase or omit the cultures and people in the locations they are traveling to. If Torren was Anthony Bourdain on a surfboard, this would be the greatest surf film ever.

I really admire Torren Martyn's surfing, but I never succeeded in watching one of these NeedEssentials movies from beginning to end. Anyone of us has (or should have) his personal definition of travel, adventure and culture, and my vision is antipodal to that. Cold, broken vans, grass, more cold, menacing seas... no thanks. Just as the codified tropical nightmares with jungle, starving children, guerrillas and Ak47s, no, that's not my cup of tea. My idea of exoticism and adventure, laugh all you want, can be a laundromat in Huntington Beach, maybe La Paloma Theatre in Encinitas, or a pizzeria in Avoca Beach or Merewether. That's the only advantage of being a surfer in Italy I guess. :p

Casa's preferred method of watching surf film.

All action! No lifestyle.

Have to fess up that I'm with casa on the editing advice in general. I mean people do what they like and variety of content is good but yeah I want to grab my milk plus, throw on a bit of the old Ludwig Van with a spot of the old ultra lip violence.
