Hi,I live in Florida and I was wondering if I could get advice on a shortboard that could make a fun session out of anything from just rideable to gutless chest high surf. Also, what would be good dimensions for me? I'm 5'8'' 135lbs and I'm 19 (been surfin since 4). Thanks <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Find a recommended shaper, and sit down for a talk. Here's what I did Tuesday.

Good buddy recommended a local shaper here, for whom he's been riding over the past year or so. Raves about the guy's boards. Went in and described what I was looking for.

- Board for me to ride small to head high waves
- Want a 6'3"
- I'm 6'0" 195 pounds, so I'll need some width
- Front foot favored
- squash tail
- etc.

See what the shaper says. I even asked him about vee bottoms and what not (never ridden one). He didn't think too highly of them on his shapes, so we didn't go with that.

I've tried lots of different small wave boards and I 'm sold on the C.I. Sashimi. I've surfed it in crummy gutless surf up to 6' Malibu and the board works great. I wouldn't use it in powerful winter surf, but it's a great board for the soft summer surf of SoCal.
