Just came back from 2 weeks on the maldives. Apart from a little trip to Munich I hadn't surfed in 5 months, so it felt incredibly good to be back in the water. We didn't get any big swells, but it was chest high to a bit overhead everyday. Safe to say I surfed my brains out. Me 6'2 approx 200lbs, middle aged kook.

Last winter, that board broke my nose in Morocco, nearly castrated me and almost knocked my teeth out. The psychological damage took a while to heal so I didn't surf it much since. Went really good though. Gets you in nice and early, doesn't mind late drops though. The rails are magic, feels like the faster you go the better the board works. Feels so good to crank a turn with all that rail line. Blew a fin box bottom turning on day 3 or 4 and put her away. Good times though.

Concave deck feels nice both paddling and surfing. After surfing it for a while I noticed my thumbs and wrists starting to hurt a little, presumably from duck diving and putting the hands weird during take offs. Might not be an issue for younger people though haha. Really, really buttery and smooth rail to rail, and overall great flow. Certainly not a slow board, but not very drivey feeling. More of a point break than a beach break board for me if that makes sense. Rode it mostly as a quad with the h4s. Thruster felt better in bowly waves, but if a board works equally well as a quad I gravitate towards that setup cause more speed more better.
6'1 stub 3.0
This one blew me away. Had 3 driver 2.0s, loved them but they needed some push to get going. Also had a sub driver that went really well but always felt kinda dull compared to the drivers. The stub 3.0 feels like the perfect compromise. It has a surprising bottom end (in boardshorts surfing reef breaks at least) and still feels great in slightly overhead surf. I was expecting to use the precious when it's smaller and the stub when it's a bit bigger but they turned out to have a somewhat similar range. It was more a question of whether I was feeling lazy or in the mood to "rip". My pyzalien 2 was more forgiving, probably better in bigger waves and also worked great as a quad, but overall this might be my best hp daily driver board ever. The only thing that took a bit of getting used to was the amount of lift under the rear foot (think it has single concave all the way whereas most my DD boards have single to double). Below pics are from the very first 2 waves on the board btw.
