Take the early bird into Hanalei and spend the day. Come out on the 5:45 PM when the State opens the road for the 3rd time or come out of Hanalei on the 1:30 PM run. Be prepared to Wait In Line on the 1:30 PM INBOUND to Hanalei. I have to get in line at Noon to make sure that I can get to work on the 1:30 - 2:30 run, BUT I don't have to work until 5:00 PM because of the LONG LINES of traffic trying to get to Hanalei and points West.
