HAHA.

The Mrs and I both teach and we have been learning zoom and using google tools the last few days.

I'm looking forward to expectations shifting to working with students rather than meeting virtually with colleagues. It's like a license for people to just keep talking... ugh

My wife had a Zoom happy hour with her friends around the country

My oldest is having 2 Zoom classes per week.

The kids settled down pretty quickly after they finished saying hi to each other. I guess that's the difference between 3rd and 7th graders

dear lord...the app is like instagram for the workplace. "hello, look at me, i'm so special, you all need to know about it"....friggin shoot me. how do you people do this?!
I refuse to do.

Some people fucking love it.

I've just been sending and answering emails all day long for the last 12 days. I feel like an Amazon customer service worker in India.

Most of the kids are doing what I am asking but I broke things down and was super reasonable with my workload.

I'm working on setting up a commercial Zoom account now.
I prefer face to face, but not if I'm going to get the Corona virus.

LAUSD is recommending not to use zoom with students. We have "schoology" conference. I believe in the schoology conference students do not see each other . That seems like it would be a major distraction. Also, in schoology all their chats/questions are recorded for posterity.

It is intrusive for teachers in that admin can go and look at all the lessons we do without our knowledge. Whereas in a real classroom you could see when the walked in to check on you (and you could hide the bottle...just kidding).

I think I had the virus.

It's not that bad.

Unless it kills you.

I'd like to get tested for antibodies.

It would be cool to know you won't transmit the virus and die.

I could go out an help society and sh!t.

Daughter is doing one now. Not sure what our District is going to do next week.

I could probe others and find out.

Then I thought, 'why, just wait.'

Large number of students won't have internet capabilities.

I'm doing some skin cancer cream I've been using and the blisters will start showing.

depending on the vendor we're talking to
gotomeeting
gotowebinar
webex
microsoft teams
and zoom

teams seems to be the new new among businesses
but i like gotowebinar because everyone is on mute
there's always that one ahole who goes on hold and forces everyone to listen to their company's hold music
or start talking in the background clueless that there's 25-100 others on the conference call
plus everyone looks either stupid or ugly on a video call
