It’s now looking like the lockdowns may have been a huge mistake

What tested and proven vaccine?

The Russian one that Putin tested on his daughter?

Astra Zeneca is slightly farther along than any of the other more-than-a-dozen vaccine contestants. There are currently a record 50,000 volunteers being tested in Astra Zeneca's final trial. One volunteer has claimed to have had an "unexplained illness". As a result this one Astra Zeneca official has completely halted vaccination of volunteers. Meanwhile more than 10,000 Americans are dying of COVID-19 every month.

Why are the Astra Zeneca trials being halted? About 2 weeks ago, with Biden/Harris facing a miserable dive in presidential polls, Dr Fauci started telegraphing new skepticism about approving any drug with ANY side effects on ANYONE. That's ridiculous on its face. We have approved drugs with any number of side effects.

The question should be the same as it's always been, How do the vaccine risks stack up against the risks presented by the disease?

The real question is, Why would Faucci abandon this tried-and-true method of vaccine evaluation? The answer lies in the "street fight" over states abandoning legal requirements that voters present themselves physically in order to register their votes ......and the competing leftist proposal to mail out ballots wholesale. Wholesale ballot mail-outs would allow for rampant vote fraud as well as the prospect of re-counting ballots until the left wins.

It's clear that Fauci has been broadcasting a warning to any potential vaccine winner that their vaccine will not be approved if its vaccine trials are completed in time to preclude the left's massive vote and vote-count frauds planned for November.

So the Brits are in on the coup, eh?

From WaPo:

...one major vaccine trial has been halted after a participant developed symptoms of a “potentially unexplained illness.” After the British participant became sick, AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford paused human trials to evaluate whether the person’s condition could be related to the vaccine.

From WaPo:

How many massive vaccine trials would have been totally halted by one "unexplained illness"?

This has nothing to do with Britain. Oxford University has provided the labs for Astra Zeneca's vaccine research, but Oxford didn't halt the Astra Zeneca trials. Astra Zeneca did. Astra Zeneca is an international corporation with headquarters in the United States.

Either way the United States is far and away the biggest supplier of development cash for COVID-19 vaccine research. If the leftist in charge of United States vaccine approval telegraphs that he will refuse to approve any vaccine which threatens the Democrat planned vote fraud then any vaccine maker anywhere would be foolish to pursue a timely COVID-19 cure.

We’re not in lockdown and haven‘t been for months.

Also, I wonder how we can explain the fact that the 5 allied European countries, with a population roughly equal to that of the US, are averaging 90-something deaths per week when we’re around 850-1000 per week.

But we were in lockdowns for a long time, right doofus???? Did you pay attention? Did the virus go away? Nope

We were "flattening the curve" yet the hospitals were half empty then, and now with the virus more widespread than before lockdowns, they still are not overwhelmed. The whole "flatten the curve" bullshit was just that. And while the Swedish mortality rate was initially higher, their death rate now is lower than most of Europe--which means they have immunity- and eventually the euros that locked down and prolonged the existence of the virus in their population will catch them in overall mortality. The only difference: the Swedes didn't wreck their economy. Many top epidemiologists predicted this 6 months ago.

But keep ignoring the now know facts. Fool .

You seem really angry. Panties bunched up, level of angry.

Is that because you heard the tRump recording today? The one where he admitted he lied, and it was much worse than the flu?

I understand, and forgive your outburst. I'm forgiving, not like that @Jonahbrah who tattles when he is upset.

You're mad, because you've been defending the lie for 6 months now, and just got thrown under the bus. I understand; just dontf let it happen again.

I thought the ”plandemic” people said Fauci had patents on ‘Rona so he could get mad Benjamins when he miraculously “found” the cure but now he’s holding out for an election W too? Welp, I guess if he waited this long to cash in on being an public servant, a few more months will seem like nothing. :socrazy:

What's your definition of a "long time"? We never had a lock-down, you were allowed to leave your home.

Why didn't you just move to a state that didn't have a stay-at-home order?

So your definition of a pandemic being "real" is the the hospitals have to be overwhelmed? That's stupid.

Sweden's per-capita mortality rate is almost the same as the US's. Their case-fatality rate is more than double ours (3% compared with 6.8%) (Source: https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality)

France, Germany, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Romania, Poland, Ukraine, Ireland, Austria, Iceland all have lower per-capita deaths and many of those also have lower case-fatality rates.

Sweden's economy shrank by about 8.6% and unemployment rose to 9.4%. They didn't do much better than their neighbors. (sources: https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/08/06/899776725/sweden-records-largest-gdp-drop-since-1980-but-outperforms-many-other-eu-countri, https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/07/business/sweden-economy-coronavirus.html, https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-sweden-gdp-falls-8pc-in-q2-worse-nordic-neighbors-2020-8)

70-80% would need to be infected to achieve herd immunity. Sweden has not come anywhere near herd immunity, with infection rates of 15% at most. (https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20200813/swedens-no-lockdown-policy-didnt-achieve-herd-immunity).

One volunteer in a trial in the United Kingdom apparently developed a serious neurological problem after receiving the vaccine, though not much has been made publicly available about what happened.

AstraZeneca, which is running several large trials around the world, including one in the U.S., put a temporary hold on all of them pending an investigation.

It may seem surprising to stop a multimillion-dollar, 30,000-person trial because one person fell ill, but "it's not at all unprecedented," said Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, speaking Wednesday morning to a Senate committee.

Source

In a statement out Tuesday evening, a spokesman for the pharma giant told Endpoints News that the study had been put on hold to investigate an illness. Later Tuesday, they sent a revised statement, which noted that the halt is voluntary, not ordered by regulators. It reads:

As part of the ongoing randomised, controlled global trials of the Oxford coronavirus vaccine, our standard review process was triggered and we voluntarily paused vaccination to allow review of safety data by an independent committee. This is a routine action which has to happen whenever there is a potentially unexplained illness in one of the trials, while it is investigated, ensuring we maintain the integrity of the trials. In large trials illnesses will happen by chance but must be independently reviewed to check this carefully. We are working to expedite the review of the single event to minimise any potential impact on the trial timeline. We are committed to the safety of our participants and the highest standards of conduct in our trials.

The spokesman did not say what illness was involved, but the New York Times reported that the halt was triggered by a case in the UK of transverse myelitis, an inflammation of the spinal cord that can interrupt messages that spinal cord nerves transmit. According to Johns Hopkins, “it is characterized by symptoms and signs of neurologic dysfunction in motor and sensory tracts on both sides of the spinal cord.”

If the leftist in charge of United States vaccine approval telegraphs that he will refuse to approve any vaccine which threatens the Democrat planned vote fraud then any vaccine maker anywhere would be foolish to pursue a timely COVID-19 cure.

noted. I guess strong language like that will get you banned around here.
But I guess threatening to hunt down people while you preach at them is o.k.

So far GrossDaddy provided opinion pieces from NY Post, a right wing tabloid and American Thinker, a right wing think tank.

His argument is very strong.
