3. A few politically connected individuals will feed from the trough. Bureaucracy will grow.
4. More money will be taken from me and in the future my son so that politically connected individuals can get rich.

They will have to pass the bill to find out what's in it. One thing is for sure.....more inflation.
actually, several things are for sure:
Transportation
Roads, bridges, major projects: $110 billion
Passenger and freight rail: $66 billion
Public transit: $39 billion
  • Airports: $25 billion
  • Port infrastructure: $17 billion
  • Transportation safety programs: $11 billion
  • Electric vehicles: $7.5 billion
  • Zero and low-emission buses and ferries: $7.5 billion
  • Revitalization of communities: $1 billion
Other infrastructure
  • Broadband internet: $65 billion
  • Power infrastructure: $73 billion
  • Clean drinking water: $55 billion
  • Resilience and Western water storage: $50 billion
  • Removal of pollution from water and soil: $21 billion
also, likely to make the stock market happy, which makes me richer

I think it would be better spent on defense contracts.

Make bombs not bridges.

It might mean more high paying jobs that you can not take when they require you to reach into your wallet and take out your vax card.

The act of not getting money to act on principle has to be worth all those trillions, right?.

we need to blow up other countries and rebuild them before we can even talk about fixing anything within our borders.

Don't be ridiculous, people like Ron Paul always write the sh!t they want into bills, then vote against the bill, then go back to their district and flap their gums about the legislation they passed.

I mean I still like Ron Paul more than most Republicans but most of these people are complete frauds.

Manchin got his to the tune of 11 and change billion. Best balee dat.

Made sure not to hurt the dying coal industry in the bill, which he is coincidently heavily invested in. The economy is so good in his home state they do not need the Federal spending anyway.

With such a broad sweeping bill there will surely be some failures and bad contracts and the GOP will spend the next twenty years ignoring any of the successes while making catch phrases out of the failures. Think “solyndra”, “California high speed rail”, “bidge to nowhere”, etc.

IMHO investing in infrastructure is one of the best investments the government can make and it’s sorely needed. When we build highways, bridges and rail system the money spent still goes to private contractors and the manpower it takes to build these things = jobs. What’s there not to like about it?

A Democrat did it after Don the Con had 4 years of infrastructure weeks.

Not hurting his state's industry is his job. Being a dildo about every dime - like you say, then going eleven billy on a grant for the niche your family is in is straight dogshit. Maybe Joe Manchin's family's business takes waste coal and, Jesus-like, turns it into streams with healthy trout populations, trophy bucks, and meaty toms. But I kinda doubt it.

All the sh!t you outlined in your first paragraph. Plus Manchin and Sinema jerking us around for months, Manchin funneling himself money, Sinema being against drug negotiations...the usual.

The infrastructure bill in the main is a good thing. I still fckng hate these people.

well, there's Hunter's laptop (this issue is NOT going away), there's Big Bird and the vax, something something socialism something, Ashley Biden's stolen diary, cancel culture, election fraud etc...and that's just for starters.

only some of the ample reasons the GOP must stand firmly on principle, and proudly oppose clean water, good roads, public transportation, environmental clean-up etc.

The good news is there will be no pork shortage for the foreseeable future.
