We're not all rich like you. I'd like to go to Europe to visit family over there but time and cost have prevented such trips. My travels are mostly bare bones surf missions.
Ifailalot told us that Mexico is part of the West now.

Flights from the east coast to europe can be as low as a few hundred bucks. It's occasionally cheaper to fly to Paris than NYC from LA.
You can do Hossegor bare bones. Stay in a hostel or camp. It's fun and you'll meet people from all over the world. And the waves pump.

The point i was getting at is his views and opinions of alot of stuff make more sense now that I know he hasn't traveled and experienced other cultures. I kind of had a hunch he hasnt left Jersey or the states much and its a little easier to sympathize now.
I realize that vacationing with a family is very expensive so not judging there just an observation but Id have to imagine there are much cheaper places abroad to vacation to than California.
Plus prices for Accom drop dramatically . . . . You can get a oceanfront condo north of Hossegor for a few hundred bucks a week.
