What do you guys find is the best tool in seeking out specific stocks as well as specific indexes?

The general search feature on brokerage sites is pretty ineffective for this kind of stuff.

For instance, let's say I want to see listings for companies directly involved in stuff like payday loans or the manufacture of plated jewelry.

I'd use etrade's stock screener to whittle it down a bit, then sift through the list from there. Or come at it from the other angle and just try to google "plated jewelry stocks" and "payday loan stocks" and "short it all and get a volleyball named Wilson and Kevin Costner gills".

Oddly enough, yahoo finance is still pretty popular and probably the only thing keeping them relevant

Yeah, it's what I use most.

Even when I'm logged into a brokerage site.

I feel there is a need for this kind of search feature and surprised there isn't one already.

Unless there's some better tool I've missed other than the basic search feature.

Inflation only at 8.5%

Stocks rally on "it could have been worse" data!
Or stocks rally on "better up the risk profile to up the returns, or you're losing (more) value each day"?

There's a shitload of capital chasing returns and anyone from about me on up has a pile of paper money they're not doing jack sh!t with but throwing at crypto or stocks.

Exactly.

It's become pure speculation at this point.

?????

I see that with respect to Shiba Coin and some of these other meme coins. Otherwise, I don't see how "the fiscal and monetary flood gates are open, better jump in as we're getting left behind QUICKLY" is pure speculation with respect to stocks and established inflation hedges like gold, silver, oil....

sitting on a pile of paper money and "throwing it at crypto and stocks"

That implies speculation.

Hedging oneself with smart investments like PMs does not. If oil, hopefully you started some months ago.

I use it too. It's a well laid out and easy to understand interface for average joes.
