I remember the modcloth acquisition...they were a customer of ours
they had really great stuff; I liked that brand a lot
3 billion acquisition seems absolutely nuts for someone like Walmart...was
the infrastructure or brand even worth it to them or was it just about traffic?
Walmart was really slow on the digital uptake and, I feel, continues to struggle
organizationally because they insisted on going the Amazon route, developing
all their own tech internally....they did not buy tech; they would evaluate and
then steal your sh!t - straight up.
Target is doing way better.....some of that also comes down to the pedigree
of the in-store personnel as well for things like ISPU
