China's semiconductor fab is getting better and better. If they want to be dominant, they will. TSMC and ASML have little recourse if China wants to steal all the IP necessary for 7 nm processes.

There are Chinese spies in just about every American and Taiwanese tech company stealing everything they can and now they have the mfg and engineering talent to dominate since we sent all the mfg and engineering to China since the '70s and dollar dominance made it easier to import than export. Now we're going to try to have a trade war with them when we don't have the regulatory environment or know-how to onshore any of this.

This will be highly inflationary on the supply side.
This is one of the most ill-informed takes ever. It's just plain lazy.

My point still stands. :roflmao:

I don't see China ever taking the lead on anything tech related. Tomshardware sure seems to be a former shadow of itself. Multi-patterning by SICarrier at 5nm or 3nm is a long way off from being commercially feasible at scale. This is just more chest-beating from Xi and his sychophants that eventually leads to a big nothingburger. I certainly wouldn't base any investment strategies on this highly specious write up. China cannot accomplish anything alone. They depend on multiple western vendors like everybody else. The rest of the world has left China in the dust, in this regard.

Cope? Seethe?

Honey, we are investing domestically via the CHIPS act to bring cutting-edge chip production foundries within the US fold. TSMC is finding out first-hand about the differences between western vs. eastern work ethic! What a time to be alive. Let de-globalization usher in a golden era of prosperity within the USA. If we don't protect China's international shipping, who will? India? lol....China's blue water navy is non-existant. You see where I'm going with this, don't ya? edit- meh, why do i even post? Carry-on!:waving:

I remember when they said this about 7 nm not long ago - "China will never get it due to our sanctions!" then, "Wait a minute, we're surprised that they have it/got it so quickly!" I'm certainly not expecting them to invent anything like the West did in the 1850-1950 period, but they can grind it out and put their competitors out-of-business like I'm watching them do to so many other critical industries.

Uhhh... all your stuff is made there. Samsung and Apple both mfr in Foxconn factories in China.

Yep. It's not going so well.
I think this is headed where the Foxconn factory in Wisconsin went.

How has China's shipping been affected by the US Navy's failure to keep Red Sea shipping lanes safe? How has it affected us?

The USA is like a former champion heavyweight boxer that took to drinking and eating and stopped training - maybe he can recapture his former glory but others want the title more.

Remember when you were frothing for PLTR's 5/5 earnings call?
View attachment 181718
Which one - the last ER or the one before that? :roflmao:

Can't speak for these guys but I'm rooting for PLTR to drop a little further - normalizing the valuation multiples is good for the long term and I'd love to buy a little more @ $20 per share. PLTR remains a solid buy and hold :waving:

From day one the military contracts were part of the reason I had such a boner for this company not just bc it meant I was in a way helping to kill Americas enemies but also bc it meant in terms of product (AI) they were delivering actionable results (on the battlefield).

At first gov contacts were bread and butter for them, now they’re just the icing on the cake.

I have no idea how to place some money in the stock market. How do I get started? Right now I got a rental property and a beefy High Yield Savings account.
