More "New York Post" for you...actual data, numbers, etc

Also interesting people are finally starting to mention how a shrinking labor participation rate is bad for economic growth. So will be bad in the future for recovery as well if it holds steady (I don't think it will hold steady but we'll see)

How boring.

Anyhow, I would encourage you all to keep buying S&P stocks.

Like @sussle says, he's doing fine, so things must be fine.

and you're doing fine. and your dad is doing fine. and probably everyone you know is doing fine. and probably everyone on this board is doing fine.

and of course "fine" is a relative term - but when i consider that we live in the most advanced society the world has ever produced, with a standard of living far beyond any before us, with more opportunities and conveniences and goods and services and possibilities and choices than ever before, yeah we're probably all doing fine.

it's all in the way you look at it ;)

Most advanced society, modern conveniences. These guys should be thankful they weren't born 100 years ago.

No, not really.

These guys are still stuck in the 1920s.

Except with cool devices.

That's my point.
Ah, gotcha. You think those guys are no better off than they would be if they were back in 1920's India. Seriously? Too much to unpack there, you're on your own with that one

Majority still don't have access to abx or modern medical care.

Which is really the main leap forward humanity has made since 100 years ago.

The morbidities they suffer are horrendous.

Clean water? Sanitation? Nope.

Not sure about the level of violence, rape, and human trafficking.

Much of the planet is in a similar situation.

You were surprised to see broken glass on top of a wall in Brazil. I'm thinking to myself I used to live in a place where every house in the neighborhood had that. It's actually really common.
I don't know how much exposure to people below your socioeconomic rung but from your posting it seems like not much. I could be wrong. That isn't a jab at you, there are plenty people like that because it's just how life happens, but seems just either dishonest or ignorant to the way people in your own backyard (for lack of a better term) actually live.

Infant mortality rate very high in that zone.

Rampant disease, no education, no medical care.

Life expectancy < 40 y/o

It might as well be 100 years ago.

Cool they have cellphones though! Supercool!

Drifted way off topic.

Point is, relating to your original statement that "Everything is fine cuz it's fine at my house" does not reflect the economic situation of the broader population who aren't at home daytrading airline stocks and posting on the erBB.

You are either being dishonest or are completely ignorant of this fact.

Ribbit
"Bullet With Butterfly Wings"

The world is a vampire, sent to drain
Secret destroyers, hold you up to the flames
And what do I get, for my pain?
Betrayed desires, and a piece of the game

Even though I know - I suppose I'll show
All my cool and cold - like old Job

Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
Then someone will say what is lost can never be saved
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage

Now I'm naked, nothing but an animal
But can you fake it, for just one more show?
And what do you want?
I want to change
And what have you got, when you feel the same?

Even though I know - I suppose I'll show
All my cool and cold - like old Job

Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
Then someone will say what is lost can never be saved
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage

Tell me I'm the only one
Tell me there's no other one
Jesus was the only son, yeah
Tell me I'm the chosen one
Jesus was the only son for you

Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
And someone will say what is lost can never be saved
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage

Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage

Tell me I'm the only one
Tell me there's no other one
Jesus was the only son for you

And I still believe that I cannot be saved
And I still believe that I cannot be saved
And I still believe that I cannot be saved
And I still believe that I cannot be saved

After a rough couple of weeks, Northern_Buffet got back on track today and made enough to earn listening to the money song .

To qualify for the money song, the day has to be better than $2k, or a week of handsome gains for some Friday easy listening:)
