The current situation is a continuation of the Fed's "There is no inflation/inflation is transitory" charade where they stay behind the curve because it is easier politically.
Perhaps we need a good unelected deep state bureaucrat to do the heavy lifting...but they're only as good as the politicians putting them there:

so, I"m cautiously optimistic that after the last 2+ years, we're all more resilient, and maybe we have what it takes to overcome the divisions sown and exploited by our "elected officials" regardless of party affiliation

You definitely are. There are going to be some sinkers and swimmers. I took you admonishment that "the glass is half full" to heart though.

BTC monthly notes...

1. We're back at the peak from 2017.

2. Volume profile on the Y axis shows buy/sell volume by price. You can see the vast majority of trading occurred between 6k and 10k.

3. Market makers completed the "M' pattern for McDonalds. Might be the greatest troll job of all time.

4. Usually the monthly candles have bottom wicks. The exception behind April. We are 14 days from end of month and no wick yet.

I've had a bunch of problems with Fidelity over the past few days.

Aside from the augmented values posted above appearing in my account multiple times

I've also had stop orders that were accepted but then evaporated

as well as messages saying I have no open position when got to trade.
