Ok...i have my hip fused to my pelvis due to a loss of....i think its called senovial(sp)fluid around the ball socket. So it turn, I had bone rubbing against bone. Anyway...i was thinking of getting a total hip replacement but a doc told me since i surf that it might not be a good idea. What's your thoughts?

Total Hip Replacement or THR has its advantages. Most orthopods won't do it unless the joint is completely destroyed, the recipient of of sufficiently advanced age, or the symptoms cannot be resolved in any other way. And that's just to name a few of the indications for surgery.
I'm assuming you are somewhat young. Might be a good time to get a second opinion from an orthopedic surgeon. Not from some guy down the block and not from a doctor who specializes in hair transplants if you catch my drift.
