How is it in winter (beginning of january?) is it consistent at all? Would it be worth driving 15 hours for?

15 hours from the next state? What do you drive, a Big Wheel? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" />

If I were you I would join surfline and you can get wave forecasting for about 5 bucks a month. I have made a few trips there during the winter and it definitely pays to check the forecast. 3 separate times I have gone during the winter and there has been barely rideable waves. So just check the forecast. And where do you live now?

I use it and the forecast as you said, is usually off down here in Fl., but it gives you an idea at ;east. Plus, it has the cams. I use them to give me an idea about what my spots are doing.
