Has pro surfing progressed at all since the 2011 Quiksilver Pro New York

Yeah I agree. The women are still progressing while the guys seem to have plateaued. Not sure if there's any further they can go, but people have been saying that for decades about surfing and skating.
It is odd that the thruster has been the standard for nearly 40 years. There have been plenty of refinements to the design obviously but nothing I'd consider earth-shattering. Just my opinion, I'm sure many would disagree.
