I don't think the crazy right is throwing him a bone. Reagan Right, sure.
Disagree. I think within the right, the alt-right is where he's more popular.

The Reagan Right was a three-legged stool. The Religious Right, the MIC, and Wall Street.

I haven't read any Taibbi about Ukraine. I would not be surprised if he said Putin dindu nuffin. Or not I just dunno. But he didn't seem that into Iraq. (What's left of) The Reagan Right is jumping at the chance to demonstrate China's allies are basically 1940s-era Italy and Hungary - liabilities - by dint of the disaster that is the three day special operation to take Kiev.

He never struck me as much for the Religious Right.

He called Goldman Sachs a vampire squid and his writing during the GFC was dripping with venom for Reagan-era economic/fiscal orthodoxy.

IMHO the only people on the right with any use for Taibbi are some populist or small government types who might agree with him re: GS and people obsessed with vax mandates and people getting suspended from Twitter by bots for an afternoon and reinstated the next morning.

Isn't he working for Elon now?
Pretty sure Elon burned him. Don't think he collects a paycheck from him at this point.

It seems like recently he has gone after the excesses of the left.
It's been a target rich environment for the last 10ish years, especially since Thruster. The left has drastically reversed positions on some of it's key pillars. Whereas the Right has always been looney tunes and gets slightly loonier every year so it's harder to notice, and they've been consistent.

Yeah I don't think they're homies no mo'.

I think he started going after some of Obama's concessions to the Geithner/Summers types.

I don't share your opinion on the left drastically reversing positions on key pillars. At the pink-haired xhe brutally mogging Ben Shapiro level, IMHO We just didn't have as many cell phone videos of the 90s protests in Seattle or the shitshows at multiple DNCs. I am not sure what it was like where you went to college, but where I went to college, the student body was 50/50 in the 90s, probably a bit left of there now, but the Greek System votes at 100% rate as a bloc and is basically a feeder organization into the FLGOP apparatus, especially the fraternities. So they'd regularly torch student government money paying guest speakers like Don Jr. The GenX independent kids thought the Greek System kids were utensils (although we'd love to plow the sorority girls which was basically every single hetero 7+ woman on campus). The Millennials seem be more RiotGrrrl and down to "bash the fash" (LOLFAIL).

At the fiduciary who works at social media and informs moderation decisions level, I think it's a cynical gambit to not **** off advertisers cloaked in fake left-leaning "altruism".

Regarding Ukraine, I think that's different. That's arming defense against an invasion. IMHO five minutes before this MAGA became the flavor of the day, the GOP was itching to attack Iran and try to install/prop up Guaido in Venezuela to try to get oil. But nobody on the left wants to do sh!t about Venezuela, except folks like AOC who want the sanctions to basically only target the powerful class.

YMMV

The left used to be the party that stood up for free speech of those you disagree with, even the KKK. Now they call everything they disagree with racist and use that as a catch all excuse to shut down anything they don’t like.

Given the left wing positions on gender roles and transgender issues, I have a hard calling the Party of Science when there is an overwhelming amount of evidence detailing the physical and athletic differences in between men and women. Women and men even have significant differences in psychologist tests where there is no implicit gender bias. Studies with kids and toy choices show the same thing. Gender is hard wired into us and nearly everyone in a human related scientific field will tell you that.

I agree with your 90s WTO availability heuristic and that the % of true believers is probably the same now as it was then. The difference now is that the mainstream Dems feel the need to cater to the fringe because the fringe (on both sides) knows how to leverage the internet and social media. Just look st who Soft Top has brought on solely to win social justice quota points. It’s pathetic.

Which is not say that the right is any better. Both sides trust the science and like free speech when it’s their science and speech.

Regarding Ukraine, I think that's different.
I agree to an extent. However we saw the same thing with the Kurds under Thruster where Thruster got attacked from the left. Obama oversaw the Arab spring and got us into Yemen. Hardly the party of peace by any means.

Yes "the left" definitely shut down all the churches, BBQ restaurants, and everything else they don't like. For being racist.

Oh wow there's one thing that doesn't matter that the left fails a purity test on. Key pillar!

I think more energy should be directed towards the present and future than the past. Like progressive. Hopefully I didn’t misuse the word progressive.

Their focus is on people and narratives, but nice red herring! I don't think that a bunch of blue hairs attempting to shut down primary rural institutions like the ones you mentioned would go very well. There's a triggering Jason Aldean song about that.

You said there were no examples and I gave you one.

Funny how you have nothing to say about Yemen

Lol narratives. I am sorry a subset of black twitter calls any criticism of any black person racist, and therefore the left "uses it as a catch all excuse to shut down anything they don't like" in your point of view?

Regarding blue hair shutting down primary rural institutions, that's not necessary. Rural businesses, churches, hospitals, schools - they're committing seppuku at lightspeed without any help from the blue hairs.

You said there were no examples and I gave you one.

I don't recall saying there were no examples. I said I don't share your opinion on the left drastically reversing positions on key pillars. Calling anything related to trans policy on either side a key pillar is potato and tolerating a gender identity religion alongside all the rest seems in line with the left over the recent decades.

I am sorry I don't care that much about your definition of "getting us into Yemen" when it's "humanitarian aid" to Yemen and military aid to the people we're in fossil fuel bed with? You understand that is dramatically different from a war with an actual country like Iran, or trying a nation-building exercise in Venezuela?

I'm not watching the Jason Aldean song that triggers blue hairs on the left, or the video of eating bugs that triggers their white and fragile snowflake counterparts on the right.

I’ve brought up the same point to the erBB in general. It obviously hasn’t taken.
Well no, it hasn't taken.

The point of the discussion is that these things exist.

Whether you watch them or not, is irrelevant.
They will still exist, even if you choose to ignore it.

Furthermore, if you are even a little curious, it's interesting to see and hear what's going on in the clown world. I listen to Jordan Peterson and other loony right wing podcasts on occasion, it's fun.
I can't say that I managed to last through an entire episode but I still try.

They will exist with or without my participation doesn’t mean that I should spend my time watching them.

I’m not curious about Jordan Peterson and other loony right wing stuff. I’m not interested in that kind of fun.

In response to the OP, editing has certainly taken something of a dump as a consequence of tightening budgets. Maybe that'll be a good way to spot ChatGPT sh!t in the future, because it's grammatically correct?

news stories using random tweets for sources. shitty grammar. non important sh!t headlining. and lies out the ass. insulting the audience. both sides from cnn to fox. just a lot of dumb sh!t.
"Can you believe the absolute garbage that passes for news these days? It's infuriating! They have the audacity to use random tweets as sources, with their pathetic grammar and complete lack of importance. And don't even get me started on the lies they spew left and right, insulting our intelligence! It's not just one side, it's both CNN and Fox, flooding us with this mindless nonsense. It's just a never-ending stream of stupidity that I can't tolerate anymore."
