Clarity, quality of lens, quality of frame.

Your eyes have already sustained plenty of damage from surfing. It's wise to take care of them.
Overall I've noticed, the more you pay, the less durable the glasses.

You can also get glasses from U-Line, Grainger, etc. in a normal cost range that are not only polarized, UV, but also impact-resistant.

Have a pair of Maui Jim, recently scratched the lens and sent them in for repair = $95.

Found a site for "Knockaround" sunglasses and purchased 3 pair for ~ $55: back ups, multiple cars etc. They are not that bad, lens quality is not Maui, but probably similar to $20 shades at wherever but 3 pair of polarized for $55 (free shipping) WTF.

Find something you like on the rack at CVS for $20 or less.

Who in the hell would spend $300 for non-prescription sunglasses? Will you be drinking White Claw while wearing them?
Wearing cheap sunglasses are more damaging to your eyes than wearing none.

Get shades with quality lenses. They are expensive.

Costa Del Mar - 580G lenses. There's nothing better imo.

I still can't figure out how anyone wears sunglasses with plastic lenses.

I've been very happy with my costas with those lenses. Really durable and the quality is outstanding. Cheap glasses suck. Do you guys buy cheap mattresses too?

Los Angeles~California!
Pay up to $300 for some sunnies?
Hahahahaha!

i used to run a surfshop,

from where Doggie~Town has its roots from.

Bought raybans for $75.00, sold 'em for keystone, err that is double what i paid,
so you could then purchase them WayFarer's from me for $149.99, this, before thee internet,
La~de~da~dee~dee...

But, but that's just standard pratice, boyz! KEYSTONE!!! +++
Buy tailpads for $15.00 or more, sell 'em to you for double or more.
Buy a buncha leash's for $8.00, sell it to you for $24.99, etc.

But if you were local,
well thee local boyz alwayz got a discounted hook~up...
La~de~da~dee~da!

Sold oakley, style eyes, dragons, quiks, ripcurlz, roxy'z, black fly's too,
always at double what i paid for them, just to sell 'em to you,
for a dude has gotsta try to keep the ol' retail store alive, dig?

{Or else they'll tear it down or maybe not,
but instead re~hab thee old buildin', put a f*ckin' coffee shop in there,
owned by dudes from Israel + call it 'DogTown Coffee', pffft,}

Anywayz,
that was years ago, sorry for talkin' sheee~it,
+ so now, as i live a different life~style thee last few years,
i usually just wear these cheap~o floatin' polarized sunnies:
Gone Fishing Betta Polarized Wrap Sunglasses
Cost 'bout $30.00 at West Marine, or online,
can see sharkz swimmin' near me, sets too,
no prob's.

Seen many a shark breach, seen many a surfer bro or bro~ette ride fun waves here in L.A. wearin' 'em...
It's hard to replace those sunnies now, so i got some cheap Body Glove -made in china- polarized sunnies now,
kinda ok, i saw 2 sharkz breach hours ago as a fire burned near some rich pep's home above me in The Palisades.

TIP:
Pay up to $300.00 bucks for some sunglasses?
Hahahahaha!

DO NOT BUY THEE expensive NAME BRANDS,
for you'se gonna pay way toooo much for what ya get, in my old opinion...
But what do i know?
l8z, rw

Randolph Aviators. Get them on Amazon, some styles are cheaper for no reason. No nonsense MILSPEC aviators made in USA and just about bulletproof.

$300 - I'd rather spend $150 on an optometrist appointment, under $50 on any amber polarized sunglasses, $12 "Chums" strap (my keep/loss ratio is like 10/1 with those) and put the additional funds to any recommended eye doctor work. But I"m up to my eyeballs in dentist bills so it'll have to wait but my chompers are doing fantastic. :shaka:

I agree with posters concerning lens material--glass is the only way to go. I'm a pilot so no polarized for me--sometimes makes it hard to see instruments and other planes out there. I get Serengetis from Big 5, usually on sale for $65.

Zero UV from Amazon. 10 bucks/pair polarized. I get a pack of 'em at a time but I'm not a very responsible owner of sunglasses.
