Probably dropping in on you, California
I didnt know TJ was such a big city. I thought it was a few ramshackle bad stucco bidgs and a bunch of street vendors. I havent been there for 48 yrs.
didnt know either - used to just go to revolucion street as a grom w/ homemade fake ids and get into the strip clubs on college night. thought that was it for TJ, last time i was in ensenada our homie gave us a proper tour of TJ before we headed home. its huge and there are some pretty nice areas and homes

same homie is saying the sitch is pretty sketch right now but a bit overblown as per usual w the media.

TJ is home to approx. 1.5 million people.

Bertrand's stats are for total deaths not per capita deaths. Mexico's total population is 130-150 million vs 330 million or so for the US. So, based on per capita deaths by firearm, Mexico out paces the US by a decent margin.

His stats are for all gun deaths but his initial claim was gun murders and the US is way below mexico for gun murders. So his post is even more worthless than your what your analysis points to.

Looks like Central America has a pretty strong lock on the gun homicides per capita rates, but the US has way more per capita than any of the other "high-income" countries with at least 10 million residents.

Having a hard time confirming your numbers though Duffy. From what I have seen the U.S. appears to be much higher that 60th overall. Maybe more like 16th?

Edit: This article gets a bit closer and talks about the US being 30th overall in 2016: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/health/theres-a-new-global-ranking-of-gun-deaths-heres-where-the-u-s-stands

They are counting suicides in “violent gun deaths”.

Look at gun homicides by country…

This is from 2015 but it hasn’t changed that much since….

So we should be proud that we're better than Haiti?

Literally not a single western developed nation on that list, ahead or below US.

But hey Honduras is worse than us! Wooo!

If we had no guns there’s be no gun murders. Duh.

Our overall (all types of murder tools used) murder rate isn’t really that much different than other western countries.

Also, it isn’t the “gun turds” you have in your head that are committing these crimes. It’s primarily inner city gang violence.

If you remove all guns there’s be no gun murders.

If you removed a certain 13% of the population (actually just a small percent of the 13%) you cut the overall US murder rate in half.

Demonstrably false.

It's not even funny any more.

I never said that.

It's attitude like yours and other gun turds that's a problem.

Guns are for kooks.
And it seems there are a lot of them here.

West is best, except America is not part of the west, according to that list.

By all means, make it easier for everybody to get as many guns as possible.

Maybe then America can be #1 on that list!
