I know exactly how it works. Dem/socialist DA gets elected and announces he's never going to pursue charges aghast a whole variety of crimes. At the same time the Liberal governor signs a law decriminalizing most crime in the state. Cops look at this and say......if they aren't going to prosecute, we aren't going to arrest......crime climbs to astonishing levels and while the numbers are higher they aren't a true reflection of how bad things really are.
Jeez. I used to think you weren't one of the dumb ones... just highly emotional. Maybe you're both

Keep in mind, none of my posts in this thread are in support or criticism of any particular policy. Just observations about media narratives and their effects. It's interesting stuff.

And after the crime soars there are a series of "get tough on crime" measures and a new DA that promises to get criminals off the street, yada yada, and after a while crime goes down.

After a few years of low crime people forget when it was bad and there starts to be new talk of police reform and so on and the cycle starts all over again. Wash, rinse, repeat...

Crime statistics can't be trusted. The most reliable are murders because there is a dead body and a chain of custody.
Personally, I don't care what happens to these cities. The new NYC DA is just like Chesa Boudin and George Gascon. I used to roll with a guy who's deputy DA in Los Angeles so I pity guys like him who are trying to do the right thing, but the people deserve who they elect.
Agreed. You can easily rack up drug and handgun arrests by simply enforcing more and doing more searches. Most of those who end up on the wrong side of that can't afford a lawyer to fight it and plea out.

On the flip side, lots of crimes go unreported because people have given up or they fear reprisals from the perp.

With a murder, there's really not much room for debate. That's probably your best indicator of the criminality of a given area.

You are lucky that there's no crime in Florida.

DeSantis made sure of that, unlike that libcuck in California.

No, that's me throwing a leftist trope back that was used to gaslight all of the crime that happened during the summer of love 2020.
See how dumb it sounds  :roflmao: :trout:
That leftist "trope" is referring to property damage.

The post you responded to is about a woman who was stabbed.

Why so bad at valid comparisons moron.

You don't really understand sarcasm, do you
And yes, it's awful that she was stabbed. Dems also have trouble owning up to street violence.
