Try writting with a pencil all over zipper first and zip slowly. And still no go soak zipper in lithium wd40 then give it a go. After open spray bags once a year to keep zippers zippin' free :shaka:

Any ideas? dumb question so hopefully easy answer.
Depending on how locked up it is, vinegar does a good job dissolving away corrosion without being too harsh to other materials. Application of a few drops intermittently over the course of a day might break it up enough to get it moving.

CLR is the best for this. It disolves all the salt that's jammed in there. I have to do it a couple times a year to board and kite bags.

If it's all calcified and the zipper won't move, vinegar. may have to do it a couple times. pour in into the zipper, wait 30 mins, gently move it back and forth. if it doesn't come free, do it again, WD40 has never worked for me.

If it's not going to budge. Flat head screwdriver to the zipper and force it open, the way they open your luggage at customs. Done in seconds flat.

Try this first to see if it's salvageable though...

This this this. CLR to get it open again, wd40 to break down any rust and leave behind a protective coating.

clr is magic when it comes to things exposed to seawater.

I have always rubbed surf wax all over my zipper to keep it from sticking. Never had it get stuck.
