Here is my theory:

Stress risers form at sharp 90 degree angles. Look at where all the cracks start with Futures, It is at the sharp square shaped rear 90 angle of the fin box, Sharp angle, stress riser. Now love em or hate em, Fusion boxes uses a very curvy, wavy, fin box outline. I never see (rarely see) the stress cracks with Fusion boxes. The boxes just blow out completely, but that is a separate issue.
Thinking like a retaining wall. Little curve goes a long way.

Could also just be a surface area thing.

If cracking occurs, it typically stems from a crappy glass job or excessive sanding, neither of which are related to the fin box itself.

Went to the ments w someone who surfed like Luke Egan: he ended up w no boards left (out of 5) at the end of the trip bc he blew out everyone of his side boxes. All thrusters!?

I've had the glass over the corners crack in nearly every (if not every) board, but I've only had a handful of futures boards. I don't carve hard enough to crack boxes, unless they're C5s :)

I’ve cracked every single futures box on all of my twins. I keep surfing them until I hit a rock or blow them out naturally. Get them fixed and keep surfing them. I think the fix is often stronger than the original install. I don’t think they’re QC issues upon visual inspection and they’re from reputable shapers.

Do those shapers handle the glass work and sanding in-house, or do they typically outsource these tasks to a separate glass shop with dedicated sanding staff? The majority of surfboard brands don't manage the entire process.

All in house.

I just blew out my first Futures twin from a turn, rather than running over something. Most of mine have minor cracking but the cracks never seem to grow.

I've written about this ad nauseum on the forum.

Twin boxes will blow out sooner or later on any board I own. FCS2 or Futures.

For the deadlift kings out there - I'm 6'4 and can barely deadlift my own body.

Nah. It happens on well built boards from reputable shapers. Especially f you are a bigger guy who knows how to crank a turn. Probably not as much of an issue for lighter surfers.
i hav a large sized, powerful surfing frend who has blown twin boxes out of multiple big name brand twins, and some other smaller name shapers, same thing, the back of the box eventually lets go after a few good months, all pu/pe with futures.
