I think this is the best definition of religion in history:
The Beatitudes are a great guideline for life as well.
Diabeetus could be right about ol George but only George and God knows of his current residence.

I find it interesting how much of Christianity is borrowed from Sumerian mythology (Gilgamesh, Utnapishtim), paganism (Easter, Christmas). In regards to having a strong moral compass and being altruistic, although that verse from James is good, one does not to be religious whatsoever to live in such a manner. What I have contempt for are the self-proclaimed Christians who willfully fall far short of the model they are worshipping. Jesus would have thrown Trump and his followers into a herd of pigs.

I'm such a knucklehead but I try my best to be less of one and not judge lest I be judged (notwithstanding telling fecal I wanted to hit a homerun with he knees with my son's 29" bat with him :smile2: ) ...I did apologize this morning so I believe it's not how ugly or nasty you are to someone (which is bad in itself) but if you can realize the error and humbly admit it. Now - the hard part will be to step back from wanting to give fecal the knee of death in the future

Just finished reading Another Roadside Attraction by Tom Robbins while going back and forth with this gigantic coffee table on World Mythology I got a few years back. My wife groans because she knows it's just one more category I can smoke her on in Jeopardy.
