Don't end up in a nursing home.

West of the Atlantic. East of the ICW.
More than half of all deaths in NJ due to the virus, one of the worst hit places on the planet, have been nursing home patients.

Total NJ deaths..........8244
Long term care..........4151

Further, the state's statistics show that about 3/4 of the deaths have been people are over 70 years of age.

It's something no one is talking about.

I've been saying this for weeks.

The public has a right to know - how many of these deaths are in nursing homes?

Is it simply not being reported on because it might not drive the narrative?

It's extremely fvcking relevant to getting on with our lives.

I'm hearing upwards of 50% in multiple areas.

Read this nonsense

They place the statistical value of a life at 10 million dollars. That's an understandable number when its a child, or even someone in their 30s, but it should be on a sliding scale where worth goes down as you get older

You do realize that in the US ~75% of ALL deaths are people over the age of 65, right?

Is it really shocking to anyone that the older you are the more likely you are to die from any illness?

We are destroying our country for a virus that kills over 50% of its victims in nursing homes.
It doesn't make sense, does it?

Many of these people would have died during a bad flu season as well.

Yet we're willing to ruin our economy and the education and social development of a generation over this...

America is a society that is denial of death.

Along with that denial comes a comtempt for old people.

Our base instinct is to let grandma die. (See Grub's Dud's post.)

That would be the rational for suppressing the information.

Otherwise, the savage American hordes will be protesting at the old folks home: "Kill the old people!"

I get it.

I hate old people too.

There is nothing wrong with letting grandma die when she reaches the adult baby stage.

It's the culture of death denial and selfishness that refuses to allow it.

Sure, but once again that wasn't my point.
I'm sorry I agreed with you for a different reason.

I find it amusing that for a self-professed libertine you take so much issue with people who don't arrive at a conclusion amenable to your own by the same exact thought processes with the same precedence given to premises.

Sharkbiscuit: "Death panel death license printer go brrrrrrrrrrrr"

Casa Mugrienta: "Noooooooooooo! You have to arrive at these conclusions based on rigid adherence to Austrian economics. What about the Ayn Randerinooooooo? What about the Galtiniiiiiiiii and his Gulcherooooooooo!!"
