Does this mean I'm turning ultra right-wing?

The Santa Barbara bowl (music venue) is famous for this. Never an encore, everything shuts down at the minute and they shuffle everyone out. Nothing the powers that be fear more than rich idle Karens :drowning: :toilet:
love that venue!

I've seen shows at the Holllywood Bowl go long and the artist usually says something like, "fk it, I'll pay the fines"

It's late and there are sound laws.

The game is over.

There are probably teachers and staff there working there who want to go home.

Can you please stop making noise and leave?

How is that not reasonable?
It's reasonable for like a school admin to ask.
Not sure why the police were even involved

So the request is unreasonable because the cop asks it?

You just moved the goal posts.

If I'm at school teaching and the police make a reasonable request, I'm going to grant that request.

As an educator you have a responsibility to the organization. Good teachers think this way. I know some who don't.

Cops are part of the organization.

The idea that the cops can't ask me to do something is madness.

The idea that a cop can ask you to stop doing something that you can legally be doing and then detain you for ignoring them is madness

You are steel manning now.

But do you know what he was doing was legal?

If he were breaking sound laws would it be okay for the cops to engage?
right, we're all missing context

If he were breaking sound laws then they should have written him a ticket

don't ask first, just go straight to citing him?

that seems an extreme notion in the other direction....

are you trying to infer that because they didn't just write him up out of the gate that he wasn't in violation of noise ordinances?

The operator of a high school football stadium's lights turned out the lights on the band, AND anyone left on the field, AND in the stands. And the cops, instead of making sure there were no brawls or shootings, D'd up on the band instantly.

Think about that. High School football is a sacred religion. Someone bounced the clergy from the church. The Elks. Rotary. Moose Lodge. Fraternal Order of Everything. Chamber of Commerce. All highly likely to be shooting the sh!t/networking at the ball game. Got lights outed.

Sound was just speculation on my part. There's a reason they turned the lights out and the cops were ready to go. Not clear to me what it was.

no just that a noise violation probably warrants a ticket and not much more if someone were violating some noise law

No, it isn't.

Have you ever work at a bar or restaurant?

When it's closing time and it's time to go, it's time to go.

Refuse? The cops are getting called.

Same thing here.

The school was shutting down the stadium for the night.

They were told to stop playing.

They refused.

Cops were called in to end the music.

I can tell by the video the guy is a dick with a chip on his shoulder.

And what a shitty example he set for his students.

I really try to set an example of a decent fair minded person to my students.

I think that is really important.

What is this clown teaching?

Fuck the pigs?

Nice

Fire that asshole

My thoughts exactly.

He thought he was going to get Fuck the Police accolades from the students.

When a teacher needs to impress students in that sort of way it wouldn't surprise me if there's other stuff going on as well.

The guy had already been made to resign for bad behavior elsewhere.
