You do realize this is a political commission comprised of elected politicians from one party, correct?
McCarthy had the chance to select 5 people to sit on the committee. 3 of the 5 he chose were people who voted against certifying the election, including Gym “Are We All Getting Pardons?” Jordan.

Pelosi said no to Jordan and Jim Banks, said to pick 2 others, McCarthy scrapped the whole deal. Sent no one.

They had the chance to participate. They chose not to.

If they want to control hearings all they gotta do is win back the house.

even with all that in mind, what he said is still factually wrong on its face

I'm sure he realizes he's parroting patently false partisan talking points....

What was Nancy afraid of? By blocking those Rs she lost any chance of it having the appearance of fairness and bipartisanship. Boy, I can already hear the screeching now when the democrats lose the house next fall and these investigations get shut down.

She blocked participants in the coup attempt, Republicans were free to pick others, do facts mean anything to you?

I agree she should've let Gym on the committee. He woud have done his best to monkey-wrench things but I would have loved to seen him squirm on the dais when his name was mentioned in the "R House members inquiring about pardons" testimony last week.

How the hell can it be anything else but partisan? The Republican legislative branch was an accomplice to the excesses of the Executive branch and they proved twice that there was nothing he could do that would make them go against him.

He set the blueprint for the next person.

If there’s an investigation while you’re in office, claim executive privilege on everything and run out the clock, keep appealing all the way to the SC, pardon your accomplices, and deny everything.

There are what, two Republicans willing to set aside their team sports mentality to really dig into everything leading up to 1/6?

This. Are we finally getting down to it?
A legal adviser to Trump’s campaign, Eastman has been a central figure in the Capitol riot committee’s case that the former president attempted to block the peaceful transfer of power on Jan. 6, 2021. A federal judge in California has previously ruled that Eastman and Trump “likely” entered a criminal conspiracy to obstruct the counting of electoral votes on Jan. 6.
The judge, U.S. District Court Judge David Carter, called their effort “a coup in search of a legal theory.”
The search of Eastman’s phone appears to have come amid a flurry of activity by federal prosecutors probing the Jan. 6 attack and efforts by Trump allies to authorize false slates of electors as part of a plan to overturn the 2020 election.
Last week, subpoenas were served on a slew of those false electors, including at least three state Republican Party chairs. Investigators also searched the Lorton, Va., home of former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark, another critical player in Trump’s efforts.
