Do you support the trucker protest?

I'm of two minds on this. On one hand, I love a good "sticking it to the man" protest that gets a point across.

On the other hand, you're punishing everyone else and fvcking up the economy and also being an asshole shutting down roads

It’s really hard to be mad at them for fucking up the economy when we had governments shutting down entire sectors of it FOR NO GOOD REASON.

Also, these truckers kept what was left of the economy during the lockdowns moving. They kept food in the store and fuel in the tanks. All before vaccines were available. Now the government wants to take their livelihoods away if they don’t get vaxxed?

Yes I support them. Most truckers are vaccinated and they’re supporting them too.

I love how Ole Rand is all for a convoy of foreigners coming here and grinding our economy to a halt. Remember his feelings about the immigrant caravans from the south? The brown ones. Such a change of tune.

They are not really protesting having to get vaccinated, they are protesting the general principle of the government making them do what they don't want to do. Up until a few years ago that was never a problem, people were OK with having to do or not do a few things for the greater good. That is now a quaintly outdated point of view.

The report I heard on NPR implied that there's quite a bit of non-enforcement of laws going on up there.

That plus the fact every whack-job group up here has usurped the original beef to forward their own thing.
We got separatists, outlier political parties, anarchists, Trudeau haters and all kinds of others using this "Freedom Convoy" trying to forward viewpoints the majority of Canadians aren't really interested in.

Whole lot of mob-mentality involved here too, almost a monkey-see-monkey-do thing.
Already lost any vestige of "legitimate political discourse" too. LMAO

The fact Thruster voiced support for the whole thing ignited a whole other level of support from those who still think Thruster knows what he's talking about. Apparently some significant money donations are coming from American right-wing interests, although I haven't investigated that at all.

A protest of something that needs protesting is fine, but a prolonged siege over a nothing burger is just stupid and nothing good is going to come from all this.
Anarchy isn't going to happen, even though some people think it's better than no government at all. LOL

Take care.

I have to admit, the Canadian protesters waving the Confederate flag is a nice touch. First class.

What outcome are you hoping this effects?

Also, you sound very melodramatic lately.

Are you sure the didn't accidentally give you estrogen instead of testosterone?

It's a ragtag group of anarchists.
Protesting government regulations.
Speed limits, building codes, educational requirements ("A license to call myself a doctor... ha!") law enforcement ("badges? we don't need no stinking badges!").
anarchists.
Angry, armed, fringe

Anarchy masquerading as freedom is going to be fairly popular for the next decade or so, I am afraid.

For it to die will take either some cataclysmic event or they actually take over a first world country and show the world what an idiotic concept it is.
