Disneyland Prices - WTF

I live in Hawaii and I've taken my family to Disneyland 3 times and just this past fall break we went to Disney World. I don't understand all the complaints about long lines, why aren't you using fast pass? Three hours or even 45 minutes for Seven Dwarves is insane, with fast pass it's like 10 minutes. I think the only time we spent over 20 minutes in line was when Rock&Roll coaster broke down and we decided to stick it out and waited about 30 minutes.
Don't feel too bad for my kids, we've also been to a dozen or so National Parks.

Another I'll say in favor of Disneyland is the efficiency of their parking lot. I think Disney should take over the parking situation at LAX.

I'll concede that point and add that anything is far more efficient than the parking situation at California Academy of Sciences museum in SF. Mind-numbingly disorganized. That had to be the worst I've ever seen. Well, until LAX said "hold my beer".

I advise friends and family when visiting SF to park the car once then walk/tax/ bus/BART/Lyft everywhere.

We got caught out of bounds. It was a trip but even back then their surveillance was all over us. They caught us within about 5 minutes.
:ROFLMAO:

I got off the Pirates of the Caribbean boat and tried to swipe a pirates booty vase or lamp but it was fastened to the table. An automated voice said to stay in the seat, then I threw a half handful of coins at the restaurant (Blue Bayou?) tables during the ride and could hear them raining down on the tableware. we came out at the end of the ride free and clear :shaka:. I haven't been since was a little kid and it's not really my thing but my niece and nephew go each year, stay at the Disney hotel for a few days, and they love it. I'd hit it for a day but three days, even two seems excessive for me. How many days would you spend in Vegas, or the Mall of America just doing stuff and shopping, spending, eating? Not much difference, IMO.

Yep. Although a little tougher with kids requiring car seats. But saying F it to that parking debacle and parking on Lincoln and walking was the best decision.

You don't need to stand in line if you'd rather not:

All Disney VIP tours are designed for parties of no more than 10 people . . . require a second guide for parties larger than 10. Infants, unfortunately, are included in that headcount. The official Disney World Private Premium VIP Tours vary from $425-$650 per hour with a seven-hour minimum. That brings the total cost between $2,800 to $4,200 for the experience, before gratuities. Just like a Disney World VIP tour . . . at Disneyland VIP tours cost between $425 and $600 per hour with a 7 hour minimum. You can bring up to 10 people, including infants.

Disney World’s newest enchanted experience is called the World of Dreams VIP Tour. This tour intends to take guests where none have gone before, including exclusive backstage access in the parks. This 12-hour park tour includes two tour guides as well as expedited transfers between parks.

The world of dreams tour costs $12,000. Unlike the traditional VIP tours, only six guests can go. All three meals are included at any restaurant you desire with no need for reservations. Clearly this special day is meant to conclude for a grand finale dinner at Victoria & Albert’s. And alcohol is included, too.

If you gotta drive in SF, if possible I advise parking on the hill above where you want go and walk the rest of the way there. (This is based on the concept that people are lazy and don't like walking up hill.)

I have not done any study to confirm the utility of this method over any other method, so, YMMV.

PS
Smart to park on Lincoln and walk in....I would have done similar given your circumstance.

This is not dissuading my proposal of a 200+% tax rate over a certain income and/or wealth threshold.

Yep! Parking up on Russian Hill to spend time down on Fisherman's Wharf makes life easier. And hey, the walk uphill will generate enough hunger to gorge at Zarzuela (Tapas restaurant that kicks some serious ass). Just make sure you don't get clobbered by some looky-loo trying to find Lombard. Speaking of great restaurants in that area, damn I miss Ernie's. Was just a kid but I remember that place being obscenely good.

I'd rather park and walk 10 minutes each way than circle around for 45 minutes, getting more and more pissed off.

I was escorted to DL detention and banned from the park forever!

This was back in late 70's

We got caught out of bounds. It was a trip but even back then their surveillance was all over us. They caught us within about 5 minutes.

I high five'd one of the wooden statue Indians that you pass on that train ride around TS Island.

I wonder how they will keep me out of the park 40 years after than banning?

I got banned before the internet! :D
please tell me it was a zit faced barely pubescent bassy working security?!

I never got sent to the detention center but my bro was hauled away for having a marihuana leaf patch sown on his jacket. The jackbooted bastids cut it off and kicked him out anyway. Fascists.

Our graduating class had senior day in 1973 at Disneyland. I and a couple friends opted out to drop acid and spend the day (and night) in Laguna Canyon.

You should have been there for that one.

Snuck into the trestle and camped. I never understand people that got sick eating peyote buttons. We took a bag fresh of the res and had a great time hiding from the jarheads. My girlfriend wasn’t down with missing the prom and ended up marrying a jock from St. Paul.

Close to home?

My nephew Sammy's girlfriend works for Dizzyland. One of the park jr. execs.

She was up at my dad's for Thanksgiving this year and was telling Dizzyland stories.

Code HEPA.

Do any of you realize exactly how loved DizzyLand is???

A lot of people, more people than you can imagine, want to have their ashes spread at the park as their last wish.

This is obviously illegal. But it happens daily anyways. So if you happen to sit down on your next ride on The Pirates of the Caribbean and see a little dust floating around in your car.....

My uncle had a cane for an injury at Disneyland and he and his entire family were escorted straight to the front of every line. Disney seems to take care of handicapped. Bring a cane?
Don't do that....it ruins it for those who actually really need this special pass. I have a son with Autism and going with him used to be great as we would walk right up the exit and get on the rides. Now since everyone has ruined it, it's like a fast pass. You get a return time to come and use the fast pass line. People who fake sh!t are assholes and ruin it for those of us who really need the help.
