Article I
- Section 4
- Clause 1
- The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.
_______________________________________________________________________________The practice dates back to the Civil War, according to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Election Data Lab, when soldiers were given the opportunity to vote from the battlefield. States began expanding absentee voting laws in the late 1800s to accommodate voters who were away from home or sick on Election Day.
Currently, all states allow at least a portion of their voting population to vote by mail.
Some states allow all registered voters to receive a mail ballot (also known as an absentee ballot), and some states require an excuse or reason. Policies vary widely state by state as well as on what is required to have a mail ballot counted; some states only require a voter's signature, whereas others require witness signatures or the notarization of a ballot return envelope.
Bill Barr is on the case
you can’t buy drugs, booze or a big screen television with a ballot.Hal,
If you or anyone else here thinks mail in voting is a great idea I have a simple challenge for you. Here it is step by step:
1. Go to the bank and withdraw $1,000
2. Stick it in an envelope
3. Write "Cash" prominently on one side of the envelope.
4. On the other side of the envelope address it to someone who you trust.
5. Inform the person you are sending it to that you will be sending them the envelope and for them to repeat the process and mail it back to you once they receive it.
6. Go to your nearest mailbox and drop in your $1,000 envelope.
7. Let us know how you make out and how you feel about the task.

Not appealing to fear. Trying to appeal to common sense......which isn't so common these days. The republican appeal to fear tactic once more, not unlike the democrat appeal to fear tactic, both are stupid,
You don't think there are operatives who might pay money for shenanigans involving ballots? How freaking naive are you????? or are you just being purposely dishonest?????I’d like to see you try.
But why not vote by mail?Vote in person. Problem solved.
