"chaos"? Give it a rest. No matter what, everyone can still go vote in person. Same as always.
1. How long do you think the lines will be in black neighborhoods in GOP-controlled states?
2. How many people do you think will have to go provisional ballot because they were purged because their Governor is a Republican trying to cut down on voting?
3. What kind of shenanigans, if any, do you expect from the "election observers" or whatever the Trump/GOP team is going to call the people who try to have in-person citizens' ballots tossed on the basis of skin color, errr, making up some dumb sh!t about immigration status?

Yes, chaos. POTUS is the one claiming vote by mail will be fraudulent yet voting absentee ballot is ok, even though it’s the same f@cking thing, has done it himself, and has been done in plenty of past elections. He’s the one that has claimed there were millions of fraudulent votes in past elections, yet offered very little to back any of those numbers.

There are several states where simply having a ballot postmarked by the the election date is not sufficient. It has to arrive by Election Day.

We’re one of the few countries that haven’t responded well to COVID. Meaning more people will probably opt to vote by mail.

How about the states that require voter ID? Local DMV lines extra long due to COVID?

Again, all of this potentially impacts both parties, but ask Herman Cain if he’s willing to risk his life in support of POTUS.

FWIW I’ve voted via absentee ballot for decades. I just walk it up to the polling place and drop it off.

Who's right to vote is being denied if they're a legal citizen and registered voter?

Absentee and mail-in ARE NOT the same thing. Similar, but absentee is a request for a mail-in ballot.

Straight-out mail-in ballots go out to every registered voter, no matter if dead, moved away, or felon/imprisoned or otherwise ineligible to vote. There are only 5 states with true, time tested, validated "mail-in" voting (WA, OR, CO, UT, HI) All others have some form of request only absentee type voting. Most states are not prepared for full on mail-in ONLY voting.

L.A. county alone has almost 1 MILLION more "registered" voters, than total eligible voters. Many other CA counties also have surplus "registered" to actual eligible voters.

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/2020-election-over-one-million-ineligible-persons-registered-to-vote-in-california-301030590.html

"The one million+ ineligible registrants include inactive registrants (who have not voted in years but are still registered and can vote in any election), persons who've likely died or relocated but remain on the active voter list, and tens of thousands of people who have two or more registrations each. EIPCa cannot quantify how many more are ineligible due to non-citizen status or other reasons."

"One million ineligible registrants allowed to vote opens doors to election crime in the upcoming 2020 election, especially if they're mailed ballots," said EIPCa President Linda Paine. "California needs to take immediate action to correct its bloated voter lists."

And, this situation is not new in LA county. It's been this way for more than a few years now.

Tell me how this situation is not ripe for manipulation?

Defunding the post-office so Americans cant vote in the middle of a pandemic that has already killed more than 160k Americans and infected millions is next level scumbaggery. The fact that he’s not only doing it in plain sight but is actually saying he’s doing it is outrageous.

Most states can't even handle mass mail-in voting properly as it is. PO issues are only a small part of the problem.

USPS is suffering huge budget issues due to a huge drop in junk mail advertising since CV-19. People will still be able to vote absentee or legit mail-in, and their votes will be mailed, both ways.

Absentee and mail-in votes are ALWAYS counted last anyways in most election years. What IS sad, is that sometimes, mail-in votes (due to their usual very small percentage of total ballots) later get tossed if winners are already determined after a couple days, and no close elections remain in their districts. Only if a close election remains, and possible mail-in votes make a difference in outcomes, will they end up getting counted.

This is the case only in non mail-in approved states. Most states only have absentee voting legitimized and fully counted. Mail-in is a different animal to tabulate and verify and could take days if not weeks (month or more) to verify all as legit.

It's sad that some states are making a mountain out of a ant-hill on this issue, when most people have no problem standing in long lines with masks on at Costco, Home Depot, Walmart and in day/night protests for hours at a time.

It's total BS.

How were votes or ballots "purged"?

Were they tossed or made invalid?

Specifics.
Voters don't vote for a few cycles.

The GOP governor kicks them off the voter rolls.

Presto, they are an "unregistered" voter and their provisional ballot gets tossed.

Do you want to play this game with Ron DeSantis in Florida trying to undermine a voter-approved constitutional amendment to restore voting rights to felons?

Do you want to discuss the lines outside polling places in Ohio in black neighborhoods on general election day?

Do you want to discuss Kemp overseeing his own election in Georgia?

There's been "irregularities" in voter registration on both sides of the aisle, and far from just GOP.

How many election cycles do you have to miss to be "kicked off" the voter rolls? 2, 3, 5 or more?

How do they know the person hasn't moved to another county or state, or died?

It takes some modicum of personal responsibility to stay a legit registered voter. You move to a different county, you have to re-register. It's your responsibility to stay current and verifiable, if you want that right.

LA county is a PRIME example of not keeping track of registered voters, and they now have almost 1 million that can't be validated. Is that OK? They've gone many, many years without updating their voter rolls.

If people want to vote, they will stand in line to vote. Is it the GOP's fault black neighborhoods don't have enough polling places? Last I checked, there's a significant Dem presence/majority in those districts that should make sure there's enough. Many of these states have multiple day voting allowed also.

When the GOP Governor or Secretary of State is the one closing the polling places, yes.

Good grief. The guy who drew practically every district in a swing state the GOP had control over wrote memoirs about how he did it to screw over black people.

This is like thinking the Book of Genesis says the Earth was ordered off Amazon Prime.

Dems have had more than their share of gerrymandering districts for the exact same reasons.

CA is a prime example. GOP controlled states are a minority when it comes to these shenanigans, though it happens on both sides quite obviously where minorities are involved.

This is all old news.

GOP states aren't a minority at all when it comes to these shenanigans. They are an outright majority.

The best your team has come up with for voter fraud was a primary election for a judge's seat in Philadelphia or some sh!t.

The GOP went full retard in NC-09.

It's not even close to think the GOP has anything remotely resembling a regard for Democracy.

plain and simple if you have to keep people from voting for your candidate to win, your candidate probably sucks.
