Odd that I have had the complete opposite experience and I'm a kook kneeboarder. Maybe I'm just a lucky kook kneeboarder.I've been burned by him in crap waves when it was only the two of us in the water.
Also been in the water a few with him a few times at international locales and saw him get regulated pretty hard, just short of being sent in, because he was unable to behave himself.
this is such a pet peeve of mine. people taking off way too deep then just pumping behind all the sections, wasting them all - rather than letting someone who's in position go and actually do turns/surf the wave."Inlanders are too agro." lol.
At least that's what a friend from Oceanside told me. Actually he's from Carlsbad but lives in Oceanside. Anyways... he's a complicated fellow.
But yeah... I subscribe to the Taylor Knox mentality.

What do you think about this single fin?I started on single fins, they are very sluggish compared to modern multi fin. I wouldn't spend much on a purpose built single fin. Really all they are good for is forcing oneself to do a proper bottom turn (coz they will spin out otherwise) and being more aware of bigger turns so as not to bog the boar. Personally I think lessons on HP thruster is a faster way to get better.
Outline looks fine but I would be more worried about the rocker and foil
What size would you recommend on a board with that outline?Outline looks fine but I would be more worried about the rocker and foil
Overhead barreling Newport, yes. What do you think about this single fin?

The dims on that G&S sound massive. Thanks for offering to let me borrow. I'm gonna see if i can snap one. That G and S looks amazing.
@deforest that board could be perfect for you… it’s been on 19 days. I would message the owner and ask him for his personal dims since the board was a custom, as long as he’s in reasonable size range of yourself I would offer him 400 bucks and snag that thing.
If I had the money right now, I would be grabbing it.
Can’t tell what’s up with the Takayama I would try to get more info and a pic of the outline and foil. Could be a good one as well.
I would be willing to loan you my channel islands MSF, it’s either 510 or 511.

A least 6'6" anything shorter you go wider in width and nose and depending what you are after in style will dictate out line you need. @ReForest watch some MP footage and then maybe five summer stories to help decideWhat size would you recommend on a board with that outline?
