How many outcomes predicted 10, 20, 30, 40 years ago have come to fruition?
I'd say the track records are pretty dismal.
But, WE MUST BELIEVE the doomsayers, like any other religious zealot should. This is the NEW religion for the non-religious. They need to have "faith" in something, and this apocalyptic future if $GREEN$ penance isn't paid is the perfect cause.
Even Autoprax's link to a 43 year old report hints at how model data is not dependable.
We had 5-10 years to do something about it back then (1977), or we'd face calamities by 2025 or sooner (2 degree C rise globally, and 5 degree rise at polar regions).
Both have risen less than HALF that rate since 1975.
They've since pushed these prediction out 100 years. They know "better" now.
Temps today are not rising globally much faster than the 1905-1940 period. The 1940-1975 period was a cooling trend, and many scientists thought we were headed for a new Ice Age in the 1970's.
Yes, we've resumed the typical Post Ice-Age warming we've been on the last 5000+ years.Polar Ice will melt in summer, and freeze back in winter, like it has for 100's of 1000's of years. Yes, sea levels are rising. But still at the rate we've seen the last 500+ years at least, in the 4-8 inch per 100 year ranges. Some a bit more, some a bit less.
But we need to panic anyway, because the agenda behind this AGW propaganda is much bigger than any climate change outcome itself.
