Wrong.

”well regulated militia” is the state. It’s a standing army. Because the state needs a standing army the the people‘s right to firearms is protected to keep the militia/army/state in check.
The well regulated militia could be the State, but the Constitution says that ,"the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

People is us.

The Constitution does not stipulate that we have a standing Army, only a Navy. It does, however, stipulate we have a Militia, ready to be called up in service to the nation. Article 1, Section 8 specifically grants Congress the power over this Militia: "To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions; To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States..."

To make sure this Militia has weapons, the 2nd Amendment was born.

isnt that exactly what I said?

the people’s right to bear arms is protected to make it very distasteful for the government (well regulated militia) to go authoritarian.

that’s why the left hates people having guns. They are authoritarian and Gun ownership makes their desires much more difficult to obtain.
