Has anyone ridden the Tri plane Hull or the MBM from Al Merrick? What were your impressions?
Thanks! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Ridden both-
TPH works better for a little heavier guy. There is a ton of concave which gives the board a very lively feel due to all the lift. A lighter guy might have a little harder time burying the board if he lacks leg power, but some might like the extra lift.

M-BM has very subtle single concave under the front foot - almost flat - going to concave to vee out the back. Totally different than the TPH. Translates to a feeling of the board sitting in the water, and not the feeling of the board lifting (like that 1st little ankle tutn you do to engage the concave) Team indicates this gives the board an instantaneous engaged feeling, like as soon as your are standing, the board wants to go. Also flat deck as well, a little fuller rail. Expect this one to feel a tiny bit thicker under your arm.

These differences are subtle, and some riders may not pick up on them right away. But over a few months the characteristics become engrained in your subconcious.
Am I making any sense?

interesting,
I have been thinking about trying out some different things with my boards as well. My shortboard is similar to the m-x, but is the tri-plane hull a different shape altogether, or is it just a different bottom rocker, like adding channels? Also, has anyone tried the mx with channels and how is it different if you have?
Thanks for any info
