Any commodity which government pays for raises in price and lowers in quality. The more the government buys of the commodity the worse these factors become.

If the price of higher education has become too burdensome then the problem is that government is buying too much of it. How can the solution be for government to buy more of it?

FREE MONEY!!!! .....WHEEEEEEE!....

There is no free ride. Pay your own way. Don't expect the rest of us to pick up your tab, especially for an investment which should pay you big bucks.

Unless you're the President, and you want to play golf every third day. Then you love that free money WEEEEEEEEEEE

The problem is that the young customer sees a shiny object and the true cost is somewhat hidden and deferred. It suckers the young customer into buying a shitty product at a price it isn't really worth. I have a son in college right now and he has no concept of what the price tag is.

it is an incredibly stupid plan to campaign on.

I do not agree with it in principle or theory.

a better solution would be to reform the financial aid system
which would help to address the inflation in tuition costs and
the burdensome interest rates.

Yeah, reform it out of existence.

This comment is too nuanced and smart for the erBB. Please frame it in argumentative hyperbole next time

Thanks

I trip out on how the state colleges are pushing the "college experience."

I tell these kids, live with your parents and get your GE stuff out of the way at the CC, then go to a nearby state college for the BA.

If you get good grades you can get a scholarship for an MA.

No one listens.

the Corinthian College thing is wild because they were actually signing up
their own (call center) employees for courses/loans....the parasite began
to parasitize itself!
