The problem is that the young customer sees a shiny object and the true cost is somewhat hidden and deferred. It suckers the young customer into buying a shitty product at a price it isn't really worth. I have a son in college right now and he has no concept of what the price tag is.

they already are low interest. its the only debt i carry so I keep it around. would be sweet if it disappeared overnight though.

I tell these kids, live with your parents and get your GE stuff out of the way at the CC, then go to a nearby state college for the BA.

If you get good grades you can get a scholarship for an MA.
