Areas hit by the hurricane are looking at no power for several weeks, a disgrace for a rich first world country. Maybe time to start thinking abut burying power lines or is that too much socialism for the rubes?

You might pay less in taxes if these people and ilk weren't successful at avoiding paying their fair share.

Between the grifts and the fruitless wars, there would be more than enough money for infrastructure, health care, education so not everyone grows up to be an anti-vaxxing dunce, etc. Just keep the terrorists at bay by sending them a pair of corrupt motherfuckers as tribute to do with what they will. Scorched earth version of the milk crate challenge sounds good to me.
