I was actually thinking Molly might have left it all in the water in her semi. It happens often that after an amazing heat like that you’re just kinda spent.Molly is the obvious event mvp.
damn I am a pro ho. I love this chit. So stocked to see this new crew change the regime
She’s 18 years old. Her parents are short. There is no growth spurt coming lol.Her world title hopes just increased by 2 fold when Carissa and Steph bounced.
-I think Molly is netter than Caity on an objective level at the moment.
-Caity is still a monster. It'll be interesting what happens if she ever hits a significant growth spurt.
-Caity is sick and improving constantly.
^ ThisI think Caity has more natural talent and style. Molly is definitely stronger looking but her surfing is a little stiff. Maybe she's overly coached or something. Whatever it is, her surfing doesn't excite me.
If Caity can put on a little more muscle and stay injury free she will be really hard to beat in any condition.
Jordy is from South Africa, and Caroline is from Florida.Don’t forget Jordy and Caroline.
It was a joke, just as the post i replied to Was. You know, since they both moved there. Like Filipe. But unlike Caity who doesn’t live there.Jordy is from South Africa, and Caroline is from Florida.
I think the earlier analogy to JJF is spot on. If she can stay healthy, she’s a natural and she will go far.Caity has the X-factor that can't be taught/trained/coached, such as, Curren or Occy or Dane. Not that she is their equal or will go on to become...? But they seem to share a common disposition, that is unique, and even more so in our era.
It's great to watch it as it happens for her and I hope she doesn't get groomed by corporate influences or gets seriously injured.
I thought about the JJF comparison but thinking about him growing-up on the NS w/ the waves, siblings, and culture compared to Caity in Oceanside… any rational understanding is not mine.I think the earlier analogy to JJF is spot on. If she can stay healthy, she’s a natural and she will go far.
it’s on her to hit the strength programs before the injuries stack up, not after.
Agree. I meant the nature aspect not the nurture of their respective playgrounds.I thought about the JJF comparison but thinking about him growing-up on the NS w/ the waves, siblings, and culture compared to Caity in Oceanside… any rational understanding is not mine.
Carlsbad does not approve of your loose interpretation…Pretty wild that Joey Buran and Caity are both from Oceanside (we'll use the term loosely).
Joey coched her for the US Team early on.
Now they both won at Pipe.
*It's really fucking awkward that we can't call the winners "Pipe Masters"
Neither does Vista.Carlsbad does not approve of your loose interpretation…
