Idk about that. Caity might have better flow but Bettylou has been looking on fire!! She has some massive turns on her insta.
She rips.
She'll stay on tour.
She's not winning a title yet.
She has some great technique, but she still looks like she's swinging around a board that is too big for her sometimes, leaving her looking a little Conologueish.
She surfing still looks "small". She's On rail, frees the tail, hits the lip, all with proficiency. But you can't win a world title if you can't fan a frontside carve that makes the jaws drop. Cal it regressive all you want, it's just the way it is.
It'll be interesting to see how her surfing changes when she hits the next few growth spurts. It hits the female surfers harder than the men. She's due.

She’s already beaten pretty much everyone on tour already. While she doesn’t have Caroline or Lakey power, they can’t touch her air/release game.
Her airs will win events.
A close mentor of Carissa’s told me Caity has perhaps the best barrel riding technique he’s ever seen on the ladies side. It won’t surprise me if she wins JBay next year.
Like I said, not top 3 next year but probably top 5. WT in 3 years or less.

Yeah... she needs to improve on some things. But her turns are very very good!
You're right about Caity's air game. She's got those down pretty solid. I never thought about her barrel riding technique, but I guess it is pretty good. I saw her catch barrel after barrel at the pier one day. She actually burned me pretty good on a wave that i had perfect positioning. She's a frother. It will be interesting to see how she does on tour.
If she starts now and keeps on course, she could have the same opportunity Slater had. I think he started competing at her age right?

Mike Lambresi and Chuy Reyna are the first ones to come to mind but not as young as Caity.
Her turns aren't small.
I saw her surf in person at Snapper in May, unruly OH surf.
For a little ranga, her turns were impressive, and she's got plenty of variety in the top turn repertoire- which judges love.
Her problem will be the same one facing all rookies, male or female.
Pipe/Sunset/Portugal/Bells/Margies then a mid-year cut.
They are not easy waves for rookies to do well at.
Couple of bad heats and it's back to the CS.
