He had daddy issues.

What is weird is lots of kids can grow up with money and be fine.

They can grow up with fucked up parents and be fine.

It's environment and temperament always. Things can always go either way.

I liked the movie too.

The idea of having tons of cash to travel in style in the 70s to surf seems like the stuff of young male fantasy.
