not my job. Everybody deserves a basic level of human respect but it’s not my responsibility to refer to myself in an obvious and asinine manner to make you feel better about yourself.

I wouldn’t know because I don’t watch Fox News. Either way I will always take the side of free speech and more discourse over being told what to say and believe. Free speech used to be a left wing position
Not your job, but do you have a high level understanding of the merit, being some small population feels a little better about themselves?

I ask myself what would Jesus do
not that I believe the whole Bible story and jesus being god, but irregardless, based on the fables, wwjd is just a bit of a moral compass for me

i think he might be supportive of people feeling accepted

i still haven’t put pronouns on my professIonal profiles, even though many at woke, errrr ,i mean at work have.
as one of the older white guys, there’s a pretty low level of expectations of me, but I have zero inclination to fight it. I think of it being adaptable to change

You made it your business by constantly arguing about it.

If it wasn't your business, you would have STFU and mind your own.

Nobody is asking you to do anything.
You can refer to yourself whatever you like.

Stop making other people's business your business.

All you have to do is nothing.
And you can't even do that.

Pretty funny, only the right is banning books.
And where did I say that the Right is some kind of example of free speech values  :roflmao:

"Both sides" only care about protecting the speech that they like, whereas I'm pretty much an absolutist about it. In a free speech society, good and better speech will always rise to the top based on its one merits and without coercion.

Every person and group has a right to say how people should refer to them. However they don't have the right to demand that other people refer to themselves in a certain way just to make a a 1/200 minority feel better about themselves. They especially don't have the right to demand that we de-gender the entire English language, especially anatomical words that aren't offensive to anyone.

The only reason why this stuff has become common is because there is a certain ilk that uses bullying and coercive tactics to push these ideas on everyone. These ideas would never rise to the top on their own merits because they frankly don't exist. Why should I give a group a victory that uses such underhanded tactics to get their ideas across?

Exactly.

The "countless examples" of people who lost their jobs because they refused to be "coerced" is a lie.

Those who did, lost their jobs because they were being assholes on social media and elsewhere, not because they refused to be coerced.

The level of pettiness you must have to think that a trivial issue like this is destroying society, is off the charts.
More denialism as a coping mechanism

Would you agree that polarization is hurting society?

I think to have a nice house in suburbia and raise 2.3 kids, you pretty much need to be a millionaire

what if we didn’t argue about it
what if we ignored it, unless it effected us directly
and what if , when it directly affected you, you just referred to someone the way they wanted, and left it all behind
what if you just didn’t give a f about it and said “them”

probably most of the people shrieking about having to use pronouns that aren’t the sames ones they used a few years ago, most aren’t directly affected

focusing on healthcare infrastructure and education makes sense
why can’t people just say them and move onto the important stuff
Because when the very definition of reality is at stake a trivial matter becomes something important

Yes polarization is hurting society.

So don't do it. :poke:

Or at least have a good reason to do it, instead of blabbering about "degeneracy" and excluding people from society because of their sexual preference, church lady.

You and I live in different realities
my definition of reality isn’t at stake
It literally is

As soon as you accept that someone can choose their gender you've succumbed to that insane person's reality

Since that was accepted so easily by the certain people, we've seen a rash of redefinitions like pandemic, vaccine, recession, etc

Just do what the regime tells you, "it won't affect you"

Read some Shakespeare
Language evolves

Sounds like you’ve embraced the evolution of the word “literally “, so that’s a start

So wait, "laptop class" is a real thing in Clown World? :roflmao:
What does "made soft by culture and food" mean?
Are you hard and don't have a laptop?
You don't jerk off anymore?

What a sad 'reality' you live in.
