I get bruised big toes from banging them on my surfboard during my popups. Is there anything I can do to make them heal quicker and prevent it in future? I'm concerned about effects of long-term chronic bruising.
Keeping my nails trimmed seems to help some. The bruising is more a nusiance than bad enough that the nail needs to be pierced to let out pressure. I've tried a half hearted attempt at taping them to prevent reinjury but the tape came off.
Doesn't matter if I'm barefoot or wearing booties. Half the time it probably happens when I can't feel my feet very well because of the cold water.
