Looks like they screwed up the order of the back and white pinlines on the deck.

Send it back.
Hasn't shipped yet.
Getting Malcolm to make me another for that mistake as well as the pyramid logo on deck not being blue....

He completely botched my custom and offered to redo. No worries and I kept it. He offered a T-shirt and I picked one but he never sent it.

He didn’t completely botch mine but he did put the wrong logo on the bottom. Truth be told, it probably looks better with the wrong logo.

He did have a t’shirt ready for me when I went to pick the board up.

Difference or similarities between an octafish and mini B5?

Can anyone tell me if i can justify buying an octafish while having a mini b5?
What are the difference in conditions you can use the boards. Does one prefer another kind of wave or like bigger/smaller waves or are both boards for the same conditions but with another way of surfing? Anyone had or ridden both models who can help me out?

I've cut Malcolm's boards for close to 20 years and I was the original crash test dummy for the O-fish. Had 4 or 5. Love the boards. The MBLV is a favorite and I have had about 3-4 of those. IMHO, the MBLV has a little more range in both directions. And IMO, a clean non-wing rail line has a bit more of a solid feel when being pushed over it's head into waves it was not designed for. Definite overlap on the two designs. IMHO. YMMV.

I've had the pleasure of owning both, 2 of each actually.
I think you can definitely justify having both shapes in the quiver, especially if you like shorter stubby boards.
I found the octafish liked hollower and bigger waves than the MB. For me that narrower tail holds better. It eats up curve in the face of the wave, and liked waves with punch.
The MB 5s I had (5 fins, no light bottom) were a blast in smaller, lined up surf and held pretty well in overhead waves with a bigger center, but I prefer the octafish in more power.

Yo @kpd73 did you get this thing properly drenched during y'all's recent run of swell?
Absolutely.

I had initially thought this was going to be an all rounder I could grab almost any day everyday....
Turned out to be a much more HP really good wave board.
Needs long period water running fast underneath it and once it's up to speed and planing it pulls hair and straight fvcks.
Mini swallow elicits rape charges from walls.

I have to write a design review for Malcolm and will post it here when I do.

Thanks
