We're talking here about the EXACT DETAILS alleged by the New York Slimes. Can anyone know the exact details of series episodes which they are still "working on"? How can the New York Slimes know the same kind of information about Bolton's book which is still being worked on?

Yes scripts and early versions of cuts gets get distributed, sometimes widely. We do what we can to prevent leaks but they do happen.
I don't work in publishing but I imagine it's not much different. When the New York Times has a review published in advance of the release of a new book do you think their critic read all 400 pages and wrote the review that morning? Of course not, they read an advance copy furnished by the publisher that they likely got weeks before the book was released. Further, in cases like this of national security the whitehouse and intel community get copies in advance and have the ability to classify various elements of said book for national security reasons. It's likely that this leak came from within the whitehouse itself, it's been leaking like a civ for three years now.
"Still being worked on" can literally mean in the hands of an editor. If it ships in March that's not far off. It's gotta be locked and off to the press for distribution soon. Stick to what you know, eating like a carnivore.
